The maln areas concernin8 U5this year in our meetings have been with:
Flnance
Monthly financial reports are presented to the meetings and discussed. This year, the
Introduction of the Parish Giving scheme and the increased generosity of Beacon family
members has seen an increase in our regular income. The aim is for Beacon Church to be
completely self-funding. As our giving ha5 increased, so have our expenses including the
Parish share that we pay to the Diocese. We are however lookin8 for further sources of
funding at the moment.
The renawdtlon of 4Z Reads Avenue
The purchase of 42 Reads Avenue after a year of uncertainty and considerable discussion
and negotiations with both the previous owner of the property and the diocese completed
in April 2023. and is reflected in the report and accounts for 2023. It is common practice for
the Diocese to hold the deeds on behalf of the PCC even though the economic interest
remains with the PCC who are responsible for repairs and upkeep.
Having enough funds to start ourfirst phase, thi5 year saw the installation of solar panels.
new heatin8 s￿ern. new kitchen and toilets.
The full responsibi5ity for the future of the old thurth building on Palatine Road has now
been taken over by the Diocese
