## Objects of the CIO 

The CIO promotes the objects of the Riding for the Disabled Association incorporating Carriage Driving, a charity registered under charity number 244108 (“RDA"), by providing disabled people with the opportunity to ride and/or to carriage drive to benefit their health and well-being in the Ipswich area.  The CIO plans to operate on two days of the week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) at the Bentley Riding School, Bergholt Rd, Bentley, Ipswich IP9 2DQ.  Tuesday sessions are for adult riders and Thursday for younger riders who are pupils at Stone Lodge Academy, Stone Lodge Lane West, Ipswich. 

## Governance 

Trustees on 31 March 2023: 

Veronica Barlow (Safeguarding officer) Louise Connolly (Secretary) James Geary (Treasurer) Clare Phillips (Chairman) Gillian Lewis 

Selection and appointment of new trustees is discussed at meetings of the existing trustees.  New appointments are made after agreement of the existing trustees. 

During the year, Alison Leyshon resigned as a trustee and Gillian Lewis joined as a trustee on 09 August 2022.  James Geary stood down as Chairman, replaced by Clare Phillips and James Geary became Treasurer.  Since the end of the financial period, Louise Connolly resigned as a trustee on 03 July 2023 and Alice Moon was appointed a trustee on 19 July 2023. 

## Report on the Group’s activities since the previous AGM 

Since the date of the last AGM on 09 August 2023 we have continued to hold two sessions a week. 

## Financial review 

The accounts which are prepared on a cash basis, and which are not independently reviewed or subject to statutory audit, are included with this annual report. 

During the financial year which ended on 31 March 2023, donations and other money raised exceeded the various expenses incurred in running the Group by £6,645, it should be noted that fees payable to Bentley Riding Center for some of the financial year had not yet been invoiced at the year end.  In the view of the trustees, the CIO has adequate financial reserves to cover its anticipated expenses for the foreseeable future.
