## **Annual report for the fnancial year ended 31 March 2022**

Riding for the Disabled Ipswich Group Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) Number 1163321

## Objects of the CIO

The CIO promotes the objects of the Riding for the Disabled Association incorporating Carriage Driving, a charity registered under charity number 244108 (“RDA"), by providing disabled people with the opportunity to ride and/or to carriage drive to benefit their health and well-being in the Ipswich area. The CIO plans to operate on two days of the week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) at the Bentley Riding School, Bergholt Rd, Bentley, Ipswich IP9 2DQ. Tuesday sessions are for adult riders and Thursday for younger riders who are pupils at Stone Lodge Academy, Stone Lodge Lane West, Ipswich.

## Governance

Trustees at 31 March 2022:

Veronica Barlow (Safeguarding officer) Louise Connolly (Secretary) James Geary (Chairman) Alison Leyshon (Treasurer) Clare Phillips

Selection and appointment of new trustees is discussed at meetings of the existing trustees. New appointments are made after agreement of the existing trustees. During the period Nick Kitching retired as a trustee and Louise Connolly became a trustee.

## Report on the Group’s activities since the previous AGM

The Group re-opened following the Covid-19 pandemic in June 2021 for Stone Lodge riders and sessions for adult riders commenced again in October 2021. We have expanded Tuesday sessions to three groups of five riders in each group.

## Financial review

The accounts which are prepared on a cash basis, and which are not independently reviewed or subject to statutory audit, are included with this annual report.

During the financial year which ended on 31 March 2022, donations and other money raised exceeded the various expenses incurred in running the Group by £767, however it should be noted that fees payable to Bentley Riding Center for some of financial year had not yet been invoiced at the year end.

No significant fundraising events were held during the financial year, however the Group entered the pandemic in good financial shape and a successful Spring Walk was held in April 2022. Accordingly, in the view of the trustees,

the CIO has adequate financial reserves to cover its anticipated expenses for the foreseeable future.
