Objects of the CIO

The CIO promotes the objects of the Riding for the Disabled Association incorporating Carriage Driving, a charity registered under charity number 244108 (“RDA"), by providing disabled people with the opportunity to ride and/or to carriage drive to benefit their health and well-being in the Ipswich area. The CIO plans to operate on two days of the week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) at the Bentley Riding School, Bergholt Rd, Bentley, Ipswich IP9 2DQ. Governance

Trustees at 31 March 2020:

Veronica Barlow (Safeguarding officer) James Geary (Chairman) Nick Kitching Alison Leyshon (Treasurer) Clare Phillips (Secretary)

Selection and appointment of new trustees is discussed at meetings of the existing trustees. New appointments are made after agreement of the existing trustees. During the period Barbara Wilbraham retired as a trustee and was not replaced. Since the end of our financial year, Nick Kitching has also retired as a trustee.

Report on the Group’s activities since the previous AGM

Since 14[th] July 2020, the date of the last AGM, due to the pandemic the Group did not carry out any riding sessions until re-opening for Stone Lodge riders only in June 2021. It is expected that sessions for adult riders will commence again in October 2021.

Financial review

During the financial year which ended on 31 March 2021, donations and other money raised exceeded the various expenses incurred in running the Group by £1,299.

During the pandemic, the Group has been unable to carry out any significant fundraising activities, however our expenses have been kept under strict control. Accordingly, in the view of the trustees, the CIO has adequate financial reserves to cover its anticipated expenses for the foreseeable future. Further fundraising events will be planned when possible.

The accounts which are prepared on a cash basis and which are not independently reviewed or subject to statutory audit are included with this annual report.
