The Ark Centre Charity Annual Report August 2021
The Ark Centre Charity was founded in 2015 by a parent of 2 children with autism to provide support at the only early years setting in Essex dedicated to provide intervention for children with autism. The charity supports parents, local schools and nurseries to help the children reach their full potential across their settings.
The Ark Centre Charity as has many other charities continued to find their fund raising and support activities greatly impacted by covid. This has been compounded by the additional challenges the pandemic has brought some of the trustees.
At the trustee meeting of the 19[th] Oct 2020 agreed by trustees the charities active fund raising would cease over the course of the 2020 – 2021 financial year.
Over the 20/21 year we have sponsored IPSEA to provide 150 free places for parents across Essex on their SEN law courses to enable parents to advocate for their children, these courses have now been run.
The Ark Charity also donated to The Maze, a charity based in North Essex providing support and advise to parents of children with SEND.
The Trustees agreed that the charity should close during 2021/2022 provided suitable donees could be agreed.
The Ark Centre CIO is a separate organisation to The Ark Centre Clinic CIC in Springfield, Chelmsford, Essex which will continue to operate autonomously from the charity.
