Introduction b Chair of Trustees Taunton F(x)dbank 2024-2025
Demand has faI￿n by about 10-15°k de￿nd1Thj on the rrEtric used, whith, all other things being
equal, must be seen as a good thing. However we are concemed lo assess better if there are peo
ple who, for whatever reason, are unable to access our support, but because we depend on refer-
rals from intemiediaries, so far this has eluded us. We will keep at it.
At the same tnne, focd donations have fallen a similar an￿unt, t¥Jt in onler to malitain the bal-
ance of our food par￿15 we have increased the purchase of fc*)d. Even so, we are pleased with
the fwd SUPFXJrt we ￿￿1Ve, and our dependence on buying food remains less than many other
foodbanks.
Our partnership wilh Cttizens Advice- Somerset rxjntinues to deliver benefits for clients through
Ihe cost of lThiing advice provided. We have also ￿￿kOm￿l Somerset village Agents who attend to
provide advice during our openirvJ hours.
Seeing the benefits of these arrangements, and the stability of our financkql surplus, the Trustees
have started to investpJate ways lo develop our services of emergency fc(sd and signposting lo bet-
ter tackle food povety at sour￿. However as the year came to an end our exceptional Manager
submitted a request to retire, and in the short te￿ Y￿ neej to manage the tranSrtjC￿ to her suc-
cessor.
On top of the the Servi￿ from our Manager and her staff team, again we have benefitted from an
amazing team of volunteers. f*1 well sJJpported by our kcal ￿MmUnity.
After another year meeting the needs of all client5 who come to us, we are weIkpla￿d as we move
fomard to 202&26.
