Trustees Report for the year ended 31 St December 2020
The Wyke Christian Council of Churches IWCCCI includes St. Mary's Parish Church, the
Wyke Melhodi5t Church, Ihe Westfield United Reformed Church, the Wyke Chrislion
Communily Church. Ihe Lower Wyke Moravian Church and Sl. Theresa & St. Winifred's
Catholic Church.
The council is made up of two representatives from each church, and the trustees are
nominated and appointed by this commitlee.
The WCCC organised a united service on the 12th January at the Wyke Christian
Community Church. which was well atlended. Unfortunately, lurlher united services
were concelled, due to the pandemic.
The WCCC donaled to 'Caring for Life,, a Leeds based Christian charity. and to the
Disaster Emergency Commitlee's Coronavirus Appeal.
The Wyke Foodbank was opened in 2015. by the WCCC, in cooperation wilh Ihe
Trussell Trust, and supporls those in crisis in Bradford South. The Foodbank operates from
The Hub, 86 Blackstone Avenue, Wyke, Brodfoid, BDI 2 8SJ.
Due to the pandemic, the Foodbank was closed for a number of monlhs. The Hub was
not suitable for social distancing. The Foodbonk re-opened using an e-referral 5y5tem.
This means that clients contact Iheir Referral Agenl IDoctors, Care Workers, Charities,
and Housing Associolions elc.I who ore able to enter their details inlo the Trussell Trust
registrolion system. The details are Ihen sent lo the nearesl Foodbank to their
accommodolion. The Wyke Foodbank covers the BD6, BDI I, BD12, BD13 & BDI 9
postal oreos of South Bradford. and deliveries are made lo client's homes.
6,819 kg of food and toilelries was distributed in 2020.. this was down on 2019 due to
the problems of the pandemic.
The Foodbank is we51 supporled by donalions of food from local churches, schools,
businesses and individuals. And we accept financial donalions, which in 2020 were
outslanding.
This year, the Foodbank linked with Virgin Money Giving. a not for profil service, so that
donations can be made Ihrough their web sile. but the Foodbank does nof employ
any professional fundraisers.
The Wyke Foodbank Steering Group are accovnlable lo the Truslees of the Wyke
Christian Council of Churches. and a WCCC Trustee is present at each meeting of the
Foodbank team.

Christian Councll of Churches, a Charitable Incorporated
Organisation (Ihe CIO).
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts
of the Wyke Christian Council of Churches (the CIO) for the year
ended 31 st December 2020.
Responsibililies and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the CIO you are responsible for the
preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements
of the Charities Act 2011 (the Acti.
I report in respect of my examination of fhe CIO'S accounts
carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my
examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the
Charity Commission under section 145151 (bl of the Act.
Independent examlner's statement
I have completed my examination.
I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examinalion giving me cause to believe that
in any material respect:
l . Accounting records were not kepl as required by section
130 of the Act; or
2. The accounts do not accord wifh those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in
connection with the examination to which attention should be
drawn in Ihis report in order to enable a proper understanding of
the accounts lo be reached.
