COLOSSIANS FAMILY NETWORK

TRUSTEES REPORT

During the course of the year, we have impacted 3123 families, 3250 participants and delivered 12 outreach programme since our inception in February 2008. Colossians Family Networks continues to foster greater understanding and appreciation for building family relationships and empowering families across our community through the introduction of new programmes, such as

  1. Marriage Awareness Programme (for under 30's)

  2. Marriage Awareness Programme (for over 30's)

  3. Relationship Awareness Programme (targeted at young adults attending universities and colleges across UK)

  4. Marriage Bytes - managing relationship and family dynamics in marriage

  5. Family Investment Workshops - building for the future

This was, in line, with our strategic direction over the next 10 years. Our ongoing programmes focused on parenting, marriage enhancement and family enrichment continue to wax stronger with our renewed focus on new themes that meet the needs of our target audience and faith community.

We delivered during the course of the year, the

  1. Night of Hearts & Roses Valentine Programme

  2. Summer Fiesta Programme - focused on Parenting classes

  3. Young Entrepreneurs Business Masterclass

  4. Easter Family Flourish Project - delivering food to 3 Food-banks in Lewisham, Dartford & Forest Hill

  5. Couples Weekend to Remember - our annual couple weekend retreat programme with the introduction of day participants to accommodate young parents requirements

Colossians Family Network continues to build the network and partnerships with like minded Christian faith based organisation across the U.K., Europe, Latin America and North America. Our strategic direction is to set up our advocacy for marriage and families in the U.K. and across the world.

1. STATUTORY INFORMATION

Colossians Family Network is a charity in England and Wales. The charity’s registered number and registered office address can be found on the Charity’s Information page.

2. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparing the financial statements

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" including the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" and the Charities Act 2011. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

Income

Income is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes.

Taxation

Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity.

Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted.

Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date.

Deferred tax

Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.

Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference.

Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the company and its Board of Trustees, as a body, for our work or for this report.

You consider that Colossians Family Network is exempt from the statutory audit requirement for the year.
