## **CAMPASSION CARE TRUST TRUSTEES' REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31 MARCH 2021**

The Trustees present their Report for the year ending 31 March 2021, which incorporates the Legal and Administrative Details on Page 2.

## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT**

The Campassion Care Trust was registered with the Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) on 30 July 2015. Under the terms and conditions of this CIO, the power to appoint Trustees is vested in the Trustees for the time being.

The Charity has a Board of Trustees who meet quarterly and are responsible for its strategic direction, policy and operations. The Charity does not employ any staff.

## **OBJECTS, ORGANISATION AND ACTIVITIES**

The Mission Statement of the Charity is stated on Page 2.

During the past year the Campassion Care Trust has participated in a number of discussions with local churches about the need to provide quality care for elderly people in the local community.

Carmel McDonnell, our volunteer Care Home Liaison Officer, has continued working with existing Cambridge Care Homes to identify those that currently have Christian services provided by local churches and to ascertain whether those care homes would like more input from Cambridge churches, in the form of services, 1-1 visits and one-off socials. As a result of their responses Carmel has linked some care homes with churches although this has been challenging during the past 12 months due to Covid restrictions.

Campassion Care Trust continues to investigate and explore possible opportunities to establish a Christian Care Home in the Cambridgeshire area. We have held discussions with Pilgrim Homes Society, Linking Lives UK and Christian Property Group Ltd.

We have a regular core group of 10 people including the 4 trustees that meet on a monthly basis to discuss and plan future activities.

We have approx 150 people that receive regular updates and news of our activities.
