Chairperson's report.
The Village and the Village Hall have slowly but surely come back to life. We are very grateful that many of our activities have returned to enable use of our hall. We have also welcomed a number of new weekly activities, which bodes very well for the future of the Hall.
Since our last AGM we have taken on a new local cleaning company called CJ Clean. It is owned and run by Corin Jaques.
Gerard Buxton has assumed the role of Treasurer and Clair Buxton has become our Bookings Administrator. I would also like to formally welcome Jo Hall, Stuart Harlow and Pam Marlow to the committee.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Rosemary Ness for all her hard work and commitment. She has been instrumental in keeping us up to date with various rules, regulations and licensing issues during this unprecedented time.
JUNE
David Lepper started our post Covid lockdown year in a very positive way with his excellent, well attended and financially successful 2nd Open Gardens. The WI, once again, agreed to provide the refreshments, with everyone sitting outside on the Hall forecourt, which gave the event a very festive atmosphere.
SEPTEMBER
Our first main indoor public event for 2021 was on September 19th hosting the touring theatre company “Pryamus and Thisbe Productions” play called “Holmes and Watson - The Farewell Tour”. It was a sell-out show and provided a much needed evening of laughter. It was also the first time our new acoustics were put to the test and they worked very well. We had a 70/30 split of ticket price and with the bar takings we had a successful evening financially.
OCTOBER
The ALNE MUSIC CLUB now has a logo and a banner for publicising the events. Our official launch will be on October 23rd. We start our new venture with folk singer Becky Mills. The maximum seating is 50 for this show. We are hoping to increase numbers for other shows as time goes on. David Lepper has worked extremely hard to get this club up and running. He has contacted many folk musicians and a number of them have agreed to play at our Hall in the coming months and into 2022.

DECEMBER
There has been much discussion about decorating the outside of the Hall for the month of December. In response to this we have received a very generous offer from village residents of several live Christmas trees to be used as outdoor decoration at the Village Hall.

LOTTERY
We need to consider starting up the LOTTERY once again.
PUBLICITY
There have been initial discussions regarding having our own website. Stuart Harlow has kindly taken on the responsibility of designing a web page for us. This would give us a more indepth way to represent the Hall and the various activities and services we offer. We will ask that a link still be listed on our page on the Alne Village website.
EVENTS
There are several issues that need to be considered for any further events of any kind. The ticketing process, parking, sound and lighting. David has been in talks with APLA and there is a possibility that in the Spring we may be able to have parking at the playing fields.

Secretary’s Report Village Hall AGM- 2oth October 2021
The 2020 AGM was completed by correspondence due to covid restrictions. Due to ongoing Covid restrictions for much of the year since the last meeting the Village Hall committee has only met 3 times since the last AGM which was in October last year. Use of the hall has been very low during the year until recently.
Charity Status & Documentation
Cassandra Bullock remains in the role of Chair.
Rosemary Ness remains secretary.
Gerard Buxton assumed the role of treasure relacing Mark Brewer who has moved away. Clair Buxton has assumed the role of bookings secretary replacing Mark Brewer.
Charity Status
We are registered as a CIO as from 1 July 2015.
WE still need to consider the legal situation around responsibility for the hall. This currently rests with the Parish Council and a deed of conveyance is required to transfer this back to the Alne Village Hall charity. This would require assistance from a lawyer. It is not considered a priority by the committee.
The annual licence was renewed to include the sale of alcohol.
All other licenses were renewed.
The insurance was renewed.
Risk assessment and fire documentation have been reviewed and updated including Covid Risk Assessments.
Accounts and Finance
Year end accounts have been prepared. (see year end accounts) Gift Aid Charitable status is in place. Hiring fees were reviewed and increased slightly in 2021.
Works and expenditure on the hall
Very little work has been completed on the hall in the last 12 months. Some minor general maintenance work was completed by Steve Glendinning during the summer.
Publicity
Facebook continues to be used for communication.
The VH continues to have a webpage on the Alne Village website, which is regularly updated and new information uploaded.

An email distribution is regularly used to aid communication, this continues to grow.
There was continued monthly input into the parish newsletter until lockdown. This has now restarted.
Grants & donations
We have received some small donations following the use of village hall property and also a number of donations following the open gardens .
There have been no grant applications made during this period .
Fundraising and social events
Due to Covid there has been very limited activity.

Bookings
There has been very little activity during the course of the year but recently bookings have increased and we have a number of new regular users. Regular users now include Pilates, Rainbows, MumsYoga, Choir, WI, Little Worlds, Holistic Bliss yoga and Furry Tails.
