Section D Achievements and performance

Vizsla Rescue had requests for rehoming of over 244 dogs during this **Summary of the main** year, of these 72 were rehomed. We also successfully gave guidance to **achievements of the charity** resolve issues and 45 dogs stayed in their homes. Despite our best **during the year.** efforts we were unable to contact 38 owners who had asked for our assistance. Sadly we are being approached by owners of more serious aggressive dogs, which we are struggling in being able to offer our rehoming services due to their complexities, we then try to give further advice and guidance. We were contacted by 426 people inquiring about adopting a Vizsla and 244 people who were considering rehoming their Vizsla. At the year end there were still 9 dogs in our care and 23 dogs in the process. We had 22.4k unique visitors for the year on our website, with 73.6% accessing via a mobile device, 22.6% via a Desktop and 3.9% from a tablet device. The two most popular page hits were the home page and the adoption form. The majority of the traffic originated from search engines and people directly access the website via the url. Instagram and Facebook continues to be active and used as our outward-bound communication. We currently have 503 volunteers on our volunteer map. We are still seeing dogs coming through that were purchased during lockdown – these dogs seem to have anxiety and separation anxiety. We are increasingly being asked for help from Breeders who are struggling to sell their pups. We are also paying for behaviourists to determine if these dogs can be rehomed successfully. Fund raising via the online shop was slightly up on the previous year but continues to be a good source of income. We have a few more volunteers who are helping us with the running of the charity i.e. phoning prospective adopters and contacting people on the volunteer list to ensure we keep up to date. We still maintain our relationship with the Trustees of Hungarian Vizsla Welfare via our WhatsApp group. Currently we warn about time wasters and reach out if either is needing a specific type of home. We receive forms in for wire-haired Vizslas despite their being a couple of rescues for the wires. Some people are oblivious to the fact they are a different breed but we do work closely with HWVA.
