and the prevention of cruelty and suffering amongst all types of dogs.
In exercising their duty, the Chanty Trustees have reviewed that all of
their activrties have due regard to public benefit guidance published by
the commission.
We assess all dogs before rehoming and sometimes after evaluation and
guidance the dog is able to retum to tts original owner. We also go
through the process of a telephone interview before potential adoptees
move onto our official waiting list.
The charity benefits all people who are in need of help with issues
surrounding the ownetship and W￿lIbeing of the V￿Sla dog regardless of
their circumstances.
Summary of the main
activities undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objects (include within
this section the statutory
declaration that trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit)

Achievements and performance

Section D
Achievements and performance
Vizsla Rescue had requests for rehoming of over 249 dogs during this
year, of these 79 were rehomed. We also successfully gave guidance to
resolve issues and 130 dogs stayed in their homes. Despite our best
efforts we were unable to contact 40 owners who had asked for our
assistance. Sadly bve are being approached by owners of more serious
aggressive dogs. which we are struggling in being able to offer our
rehoming services due to their complexities, we then try to give further
advi￿ and guidance.
We were contacted by 561 people inquiring about adopting a Vizsla and
249 people who were considering rehomin9 their Vizsla. At the year end
there were still 9 dogs in our care and 37 dogs in the pro￿8$.
We had 33.9k unique visitors for the year on our website with 37k
sessions, this is down by around 1.7% on the previous year. 22% of the
users were retuming vistiors.
Fa￿book continues to be active and used as our Ou￿ard-boUnd
communication.
We currentty have 476 volunteers on our volunteer map.
We are still seeing dogs coming through that were purchased during
lockdown - these dogs seem to have anxiety and separation anxiety. We
are increasingly being asked for help from Breeders who are struggling to
sell their pups.
We have spent much more on vets fees- this is due to some expensive
surgeries and helping families who are struggling financially wilh
expensive vel bills but are still able to give their Vizsla a good life. We are
also having to reach our lo experts to help new owners settle dogs with
issues into their homes.
Fund raising via the online shop was slightly up on the previous year bLrt
continues to be a good source of income.
We have a few more volunteers who are helping us with the running of
the charrty i.e. phoning prospective adopters and contacting people on
the volunteer list to ensure we keep up to date.
We still maintain our relationship with the Trustees of Hungarian Vizsla
Welfare via our WhatsApp group. Currently we wam about ti&e wasters
and feach out rf erther is needing a speafic lype of home.

Section E
Financial review
The Chanty Trustee's continually monitor cash reserves to ensure our
financial stability in the event of a large outlay for unexpected vet fees or
infrastructure projects.
Brief statement of the
charity's policy on reserves
Details of any funds materially
in deficit
The Charty has no outstanding financial obligations nor outstanding
debts.
Further financial review details {Optional inforniation)
As demonstrated in our financial accounts, the Charity's principle sour
of funds comes from fund raising activities and donations. The Vizsla
cofflmunity continues to 5UPPOrt the charity through fund raising at'viz
Whizzes" bLrt these are reducing rapidly. Our main Sour￿ of income is
from donations. some from new owners of dogs but also from regular
donors to our bank and paypal accounts. Another good source of income
is via our online shop which now has an option to add a donation.
Members ofvizsla Rescue attended a number of canine event5, for
example Crufts and Discover Dogs, to raise wider awareness of the
breed and the work that Vizsla Rescue does for the community.
The vast majority of the Charity's expenditure is associated with the
wellbeing of the dogs in our care. Veterinary care is our largest expense
along with food, medicines and behaviourists.
As a pnnuple methodology, the Charity avoids paying kennel fees
wherever possible and uses rt's ovm facilities or Ihose of foster families.
This saves £1000's and allows for funds to be utilised on activities that
benefrt the
eneral ublic and the do
s that are cared for.
