The charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with a constitution dated 25 July 2015 that was approved by all three trustees. The charity was entered onto the Register of Charities on 27 July 2015 by the Charity Commission of England and Wales.
## **Objectives**
To promote for the benefit of the public the conservation, protection and maintenance of heritage buildings and their contents, gardens and historic landscapes in the Czech Republic in particular, but without limitation, by supporting the Czech National Trust (CNT).
## **Activities**
2020 was a difficult year for our organisation due to the Covid pandemic but also a remarkable one as so many of our friends and supporters have shown us unprecedented support and friendship. It enabled us to carry on with our work in support of the Czech National Trust and Czech heritage. Much of this work has been carried out virtually on Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp, by email and through Facebook and our website.
1. CNTA supported CNT in cooperation with the Czech Centre in New York in a successful webinar presenting CNT project: “Ticket to the New World”.
2. Together with INTO (International National Trusts Organisation) we supported a successful CNT application for an Erasmus grant to coordinate an educational exchange programme between 5 European National Trusts (NT). These are: INTO, NT of Scotland, FAI (NT of Italy), Herita (NT of Belgium) and Slovak NT. The grant of 73 000 Euros will be administered by the CNT with CNTA/INTO’s support from London. The commencement of the project had to be postponed until December 2021 due to the pandemic.
3. CNTA successfully applied to INTO for a small grant of £500 payable to CNT to support activities connected with Covid. This was used to produce a short animation film about Maria von Ebner Eschenbach, aimed to publicise CNT’s restoration of the famous writer’s tomb and chapel (CNT’s pilot project) and to gain more public and community support of the project and our fundraising efforts.
4. CNTA played a key role in securing a gift of the original 1925 drawings of the monumental statue of nationally revered Skoda Arrow by the famous Czech sculptor Otto Gutfreund, which originally adorned the roof of the Skoda Palace in the centre of Prague. The statue was destroyed during the communist times and the CNT is endeavouring with CNTA support to raise enough money to produce a replica of this statue and return its original location. The drawings will be auctioned at the end of 2021 and money raised will be used to further the project.
5. CNTA helps to liaise and build relationship with the Austrian owner of the château neighbouring the CNT pilot project in Moravia and has secured for CNT several generous financial and in kind gifts in support of the project.
