1.19|There were three major fund raising events
organized in 2025. The first, in April, was an
evening with the Beatles where their music
was brought to life with images, commentary
and a large cast of performers including local
choirs and instrumentalists. Our thanks to
Jeremy Bournon for bringing this together
this very successful event. Proceeds
amounted to over £3,500.
In October there was a concert of
contemporary folk music headed by Lavinia
Blackwall and her band Stilton and
supported by talented guitarist George Nash,
and singer Alex Rex. This was also arranged
by Jeremy Bournon and raised over £1,160.
Also in October we were privileged to have
our annual lecture given by the Very Revd
Dr David Hoyle, Dean of Westminster
entitled ‘Dazzled by Display – a Funeral, a
Coronation and an Abbey’. Dr Hoyle gave
us a very informative and entertaining,
illustrated talk including his personal insights
into these national events. It was enjoyed by
all who attended and raised over £350.
A further event in May was an organized trip
to Tewkesbury Abbey and Deerhurst Priory
where there were guided tours enjoyed by
the 16 Friends supporters who went.
A new leaflet on the Viking connections with
the church has been produced in response| |||to frequent visitor requests for information.
Work has progressed on the production of a
new church guide and a reprint of Harold
Taylor’s Repton Studies. By introducing
people to the significance of the church, and
promoting understanding of its history, this
will raise its profile and further the objects of
the charity through additional financial

£12,601.78 which included single as well as
regular donations, gift aid and receipts from
events. A significant donation of £3,204.32
was received from the proceeds of a locally
organized event ‘Call my bluff, wine tasting’.
Total payments amounted to £4,964.44
which included payments linked with events,
charges by Charities Aid Foundation for
handling donations, and donations to Repton
PCC for St. Wystan’s Church. This resulted
in a surplus for the year of £7,637.34 and a
