1.19|Our first event in 2023 was a hastily
arranged talk by Professor Mark Horton in
the Vicarage Garden on 6thApril where
possibly the last Archaeological dig had
been taking place. This was attended by
about 50 people. The second event was a
visit to St Saviour’s Church, Foremark
where Richard Finch gave an interesting talk
about the church’s history and this was
followed by a walk to Anchor Church where
Professor Edmund Simons gave a
conducted tour and entertaining talk. In spite
of adverse weather about 40 people were
able to enjoy this. Professor Ed Simons
was due to give our annual lecture in
October giving further insight into Anchor
Church and other rock cut buildings which
he is researching. However this had to be
cancelled due to flooding both locally and
across the country. The events added
£400.50 to the funds.
The information sheets produced last year
have been well used and appreciated by
visitors to the church. 2 newsletter were sent
out keeping Friends informed of our activities
and containing an interesting article “From
the Archives”
Work has progressed on the production of a
new guide book which it is hoped to publish
in 2024. It is intended that this will be self
financing, sales covering initial outlay in
time. Introducing people to the significance| |||of the church and churchyard, and promoting
understanding of its history will raise its
profile and further the objects of the charity
through additional financial support.
Another project which is nearing completion
is the reproduction in a modern format of the
three Repton Studies by Dr Harold Taylor
(out of print) which are an authoritative study
detailing his understanding of the developing

which included regular donations, receipts
from events, gift aid and a donation to

Repton Parochial Church Council. Total

included expenses and charges by Charities
Aid Foundation for handling donations,
subscriptions and gift aid, and the cost of the
font ewer donated to Repton PCC. This
resulted in a surplus of £2756.25 and a final
