A young person came and said they weren't
looking forward to wnter as it's gunna be
Ill dark after school and they can't skate their
local.. Right there Let s Get Lit was bom.
We asked The National Lottery if we could
buy lots of battery powered LED lights and
rock up al different skateparks every Friday
night till Easter, and they agreed il was a
RAD idea.
We offered an additional 38 hours of
healthy activity to 146 young people over
the course of the project, and now we're
campaigning to get permanent lights fitted
at Emersons Green. Head to our website

This has been due to the

During our sessions young people have the opportunity to
complete a number of accreditated courses.. South Glos
Awards, ASDAN, DofE and SBGB awardsl
Each year young people also have the opportunity to
attend our star studied Soulh Glos awards nighl to collect
their awards and meet other young people from across
South Glos and hear about the amazing projects they've
been involved with.

We had residentials in 2024 and our
second was all about outdoor pursuits.
Young people got the opportunity to try high
rope courses, archery lag, survival skills
and (why oh why) axe throwing.
We teamed up with two other local youlh
centres so there was lots of team building
and getting to know new people (including
a mini rave on top of a shipping containerL

Three times a week our hall gets Iransformed into a mega modular
skatepark. With ramps of all sizes for all abilities, plus rails, ledges,
funboxes, a mini hip and micro spine theres lots of fun to be had. We
have a variety of sessions available so head to our website to book the
session for youl
Jams are a great way to get the community together and celebrate all
things wheeled sports, being active, and have a go atother elements within
the culture like grafitti art or DJing.
Above are some pics from some of the Jams we ran trips to, including
Warmley which we helped organise.
Look out for lols more next year and let us know if theres an event you
want us to run a trip to.
We think skateboarding is a great way to deliver youth work.. It's creative,
expressive and unique to you and your style,. Hard work is rewarded and
respected., you don'l need a team or expensive kit, and we provide
everything you need during our sessions (at no extra cost) from pads and
helmets to support and advice.
Skateboarders understand that falling and making mistakes is an integral
part of the learning process and embrace it to create a growth mindset
