**Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document:** The charity works for the public benefit having as its objects:

- (1) Reduced isolation of rural community .

- (2) To improve the parish of Toft Newton to encourage the goodwill and evolvement of the wider community to foster community spirit and encourage civic pride

- (3) To provide a village hall for use by all residents of the parish

- (4) Increased sense of community well-being through improved access to existing and new activities, services and events .

## **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects:**

Lockdown has had a huge impact this year. We have only been able to offer the Village Hall for 4 months this year during the summer.

We had to implement Covid safe procedures that limited the scope and numbers attending any use of the Village Hall.

Where we could achieve this then we did so following the scope of our charity objectives.

## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year:**

We managed to offer the Village Hall to bookings in a Covid safe way following Government guidelines.

Continued to keep the Charity functioning financially during a very difficult year when income was cut to less than 25% of annual returns.

## **Brief statement of the charities policy on reserves:**

We did receive very generous grant funding via the Governments Covid funding while we were locked down.

This has allowed the Charity to have a large reserve of funding now. We are going to implement a rent holiday to hirers in 2021 to help them recover from the pandemic and get people to start going out again.

We can manage this holiday without impacting the Charity funding in a negative way.
