## **– Chairman of the Trustees Report February 2020 January 2021**
The end of the sixth year of our charitable status.
Our activities this year have been greatly curtailed by the Covid Pandemic.
We were closed for four months from April to July and in the subsequent months we had to work at reduced levels due to Covid Safety restrictions and a fall in service users due to shielding.
Consequently, the number of sessions over the year fell from 203 to 83, and the number of service user places taken up fell from 2587 in 2019-2020 to 812 for 2020-2021.
This equates to approximately £44,000 loss of income from service users over the period.
However, this loss was largely mitigated by grants, the Furlough Scheme, reduction of our rent and various donations. The result of this left us with a small trading loss £2,374 for the year.
On a positive note, we had no cases of Covid brought into our centre, and, therefore, no transmission of Covid via our centre. This was due entirely to the diligence and professionalism of our staff who ensured all safety procedures were followed and that all precautions were in place to protect both the service users and themselves from the pandemic.
I would like to thank all the Staff, Volunteers and Trustees that make Genesis Care the success that it is, and for all their hard work and patience in order to survive this stressful year.

## **Report of the Accountant to the directors of GENESIS CARE (NORTH WEST) LIMITED (the company)**
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with our terms of engagement and in order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Companies Acts that relate to preparing the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 January 2021.
We have prepared these finance statements based on the accounting records, information and explanations provided by you. We do not express any opinion on the financial statements.
On the Balance Sheet you have acknowledged your duties under the prevailing Companies Acts to ensure that the company keeps adequate accounting records and prepares financial statements that give "a true and fair view".
You have determined that the company is exempt from the statutory requirement for an audit for this accounting period. Therefore, the financial statements are unaudited.
The financial statements are provided exclusively to the directors for the limited purpose mentioned above, and may not be used or relied upon for any other purpose or by any other person, and we shall not be liable for any other usage or reliance.

The company is a private company limited by guarantee and registered in England and Wales. It was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.
The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.
The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.
These accounts have been prepared in accordance with the micro-entity provisions and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.
The average number of persons employed by the company in the period was 7 (previous period: 7).
