BRITISH PARA TABLE TENNIS LIMITED FINANCE REPORT FOR THE ANNUAL REPORT 2025

We currently benefit from the funding from UK Sport (UKS) for the World Class Performance (WCP) for the four-year cycle to the end of March that whilst under the direct control of BPTT, is administered under a Service Level Agreement (SLE) with Table Tennis England (TTE) and are subject to audit within their accounts to 31 March each year. Thanks to Ms Sam Geary who managed the records at TTE on behalf of BPTT. We have been awarded a 10% increase for the next Paralympics in LA 2028. As a consequence of tight budgeting within the year the WCP programme gave constant support to our athletes securing medals in Paris 2024 and other International events. The WCP funding is, of course, ring fenced and does not feature in BPTT financial accounts

The Board have agreed to extend our official financial year-end to 31[st] March to coincide with the reporting we make for WCP. As a consequence it was decided to also extend the membership year to that date without additional cost to members. Subscription levels are very similar to last year and renewal will in future be on 1[st] April 2025.

We give thanks to our sponsors, Butterfly for clothing and equipment throughout the performance programme. This facility has been recently renewed to cover the next Paralympic quartile.

We have benefitted from additional income from UK Sport related to the 2023 European Para Table Tennis Championships for which we are grateful. We also benefitted from a grant of £1500 from Disability Sports Development Trust and commission in respect of accommodation from Sheffield City Council that is also related to the 2023 European Para Table Tennis Cham pionships.

The National Championships were held in November at the EIS Sheffield, again claimed to be a substantial success albeit again run at a substantial deficit supported by the Michael Hawksworth Fund. We are grateful to the volunteers who helped run the event and the Board of Directors who donated trophies for a number of the classification events. Thanks also go particularly to Carol Miles and Dan Bullen who were instrumental in the organisation of the event together with members of the Committee who spent many hours in preparation. In conjunction with the Nationals we were again able to run an Umpires course to illustrate the different regulations related to para events. We used much of the remaining grant for support from UK Sport to subsidise the training.

This year we ran several Grand Prix Tournaments in Sheffield and one in Swansea that overall were run at break-even.

By contrast we have incurred substantial legal costs that has nevertheless left us with a surplus in excess of £11,000.

The Finance Committee met three times during the period on ‘Team’ that continues to prove to be a suitable and more cost effective alternative to physical meetings. I would like to register my thanks to the members of the Finance Committee for their commitment throughout the year, particularly mention to Phil McCallum who left the organisation last year.

The accounts have been subject to an independent examination and subject to approval at this Annual General Meeting.
