The Huntingfield Millennium Green CIO Annual Report 2021
Shortly before the start of this period the the UK went into a national lockdown due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Whilst this had a detrimental effect on organised events the trustees still varied out routine maintenance. This included cutting the grass on the playing field and the wildflower area, inspecting and repairing the play equipment and regular site checks. Replacement fruit trees were also planted. Although no organised events took place until restrictions were lifted the MG was used regularly for local residents to exercise and family picnics. In August as the lockdown eased a little a socially distanced village picnic took place with over thirty participants. We continue to manage and maintain the MG as an important local outdoor resource, which have proven to be of great benefit nationally throughout this major international crisis.
