Qbiectives, values and artrvilles
Lovechurch Is a vlbrant thurch In the ￿ntre of Bournemouth and part of the HTB Network of
Churches. We were planted into St Swfthun's Church from HTB in London in 2014. Our vision 15 to be
a communtty of people following Jesus, famgu5 for love. We love God, k)ve people and love life. We
believe that church is God's Instrument on earth to demonrtrafr and enart Hi5 love for all of
creation,
Our cultural values are to always be:

speak couTrgeously, and forgNing one another when we have done wrong.

We celebrated retuming a BMUP to the Church of England church In Rlngwcxxl to strengthen
new mlnlstry.
The New Milton revrtalisatton projeLt vras inrtiated in partnershlp wlth the Di0￿e and the
Parlsh C￿n01 with Its new Incumbent.
In JU￿. we joined with five other thurche5 to baptise 92 people on the beach in
Boumemouth.
In Au8USt, our Youth group attended the Satellites Festlval.
In September, we opened a 2417 prayer room.

The National Lottery Heritsge Fund awarded us a grant of £250,CtN) to restore the west
window. to Install an air source heat pump heatin8 SVStem and a programme of communtty
engagement.
During the year, two staff members were selected forordination in the Church of England
and then stsrted their Pla￿ment with Lovechurch.
In October, we welcomed back our Senior Leaderfim Matthews to fulktime mIn￿ry wlth
Lovechurch.
In November, we joined with the Bournemouth Church Collective to h05t an event with Bear
Grylls to launch hls new book The Greatest Story Ever Tokl".
Leading up to Christmas we were blessed by amazlng seNlces led by our Kids, Youth and
Student and Young Adult minthes.
Our regular programme contlnued throughout the year. On Sundays, we hold two seNlces and a
thrlvln& often over-subscribed, Kids and Ywth programme. Sunday evening at Lovechurch is
attended by many students from the nearby untversty. Our weekday church actNities complement
our Sunday programme and include prayeri youih ministry. student min551ry, women and men's
groups and the Alpha course. In 2025, we held an Alpha course each tem) with a total of 109 guests.
We also ran the Marriage course for 12 couples in the Autumn term.
Many of our church member5 meet during the week in Connect Groups, some are on-line and some
in-per50n. By the end of 2025. we had 13 groups with 178 peO￿e registered overall.
Our work wlth our communrty around Lovechurch includes providing CAP debt counselling and lrfè
skllls trdining and working with Spear Bournemouth ￿l$tingdisad￿dntaged 16-24 year-olds into
sustained employment and training. We also run the weekty Inspire Café where people with chlldren
between I￿4 years old can come together. Finalty. we host the Health Bus for outreach to
disadvantaged members of our a)mmunty On￿ a week
We pray for and enable Chrlstlan leadershlp in every sphere of BCP'S society, including leader5 In
medla and the arts,. Bovernment: educatlon." I￿Siness,. the famlly: healthcare and the charity seLtor,
and ordained leader5 for the thurch. We see Ou￿e￿e$ as stewards of God5 gift of creation and have
a strong environmental focus, tsrgeting net-zero rarbon emissions by 2030. In August 2024 we
achieved EoJchurch Silver underthe A Rocha UK'5 Award Stheme.
Flnanclal Review
In 2025, we reported a net 5urplusof £49,51XI in unre5trictsd funds and a net surplus of £13,625 in
restricted funds. Restyltted fun(ts of £215,913 were received during the year and £202.288 were
spent. Thi5 15 a lar8oincrease over 2024 due to the ￿CeIpt of 50% of the £250,O¢J) gfdnt from thè
National Lottery Heritsge Fund ￿ferred to above. Other large amounts received in 2025 were for
space and environmenL and foDcwnmunity projects. The balan￿ of restricted funds at the end of
2025 was £59,570. We expect to spend these funds in the coming year. An analysis of restricted
funds is laid out in note 17.
Unrestrlcted Income increaS￿bY 5.0% from the prhx yEarto £417,580, explained by increased
congregatlonal glvlng. UnresfriL*ed expenditure decreased by 4.8% to £368,080 to efforts to
reduce costs during the year.The surplu5 on unrestrlcted funds was added to reseNes brought
foThvard of £327,512, gEvlnE unrestricted re5er¥e5 carried forward at the end of 2025 of £377.012.
Net Cu￿nt assets excludlng any property related k)ans. 4jr.free reserves". were £42,072 on 31
December 2025. This represented lust under 6 weth of eXpend[tU￿ compared to our wlicy whlch

15 to aim to have ffte reserves" representing at least 13-26 weeks of expendlture. However, these
free resetves ￿u$ annual regular rnOnth￿ donation income from our congregation, represented over

Plans for Future Perfods
Lovechurd) wlll contlnue to operate in furtherance of the objertives and Wdlues outllned above. All
our activities will continue, aTrd a finanual t￿dget has been prepared to ensure that adequate
resources are In place. We wll continue to seek Go(Ys guidance on all we do and trust HIM to bless
our worship and work in ourcommunity.
In particular, we feel that God Is leadlng us to a season of evangelism. We will work wlth other
churches in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole to mobllLse th￿ vision and engage all spheres of
lrfe wlth the gospel.
Structurei governance and man4ement
St Swithun'5 Bournemouth is a company limited by guardntee and a registered ch8rity. The charity is
incorporated In England and qualffj￿ as a smaller charity under the Charlty SORP.
New tnjstees can be appointed bythe existing trustee5. Five new trustees were appointed in 2025
and one resigned. Durlng the year. a Blshops Mlsslon Order signed defining our lyl status
wlthln the Church of England.
