Objects of the Charity
The Charity was originally registered on 5 January 1984. On 6 July 2015 the
charity re-registered as a Charilable Incorporated Organisalion.
The objecls of the CIO are: To further or benefit the residents of Newton Aycliffe
ond District and the surrounding neighbourtiood, without distinction of age, race,
gender. sexual orientotion. disability, politicol or religious beliefs. or other beliefs or
opinions, by ossocialing together the sold residents and local authorities,
voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance the education
of young people and lo provide facilities in the inlerests of social welfare for
recreation and leisure lime occupation with the objective ot improving the
condltlons of life for the young people and residenls in the area of benefit.
In furtherance of these objects bul not Othe￿iSe. the Trustees shall have power:
To establish or secure the establishment of Newton Aycliffe Youth & Communlty
Centre herein afler called NAYCC to maintain ond manage or cooperate wlth
any slalutory aulhority in the maintenance and management of such a centre
for activities promoled by the charity in the furtherance of the above objecls.
Strvcture. Governance & Management
Newton Aycliffe Youth Cenlre (previous namel is o registered charity, number
514673. The governing documenl is a constitution and was adopted on 27
September 1977 and updaled on I l April 2011 and amended on 16 Moy 2013.
On 9 December 2013. by a Special Resolvtion the Centre became known as
Newton Aycliffe Youth & Community Centre. On I l August 2015. all assets were
transferred to the new charity number 1162535 and became o Charitable
Incorporated Organisation. The Constitution uses the Foundation Model whereby
the Trustees are its members, in accordance with the Chaiities Act 2011.

Key Noteables
2023124 began with a new Board of Trustees who are invested in ensuring the Centre
remains open and meets its charilable objeclives.
The Centre welcomed back Durham Learn Iformerly Adult Leoming Skills Service I to
face lo loce learning after Ihe Covid F)ondemic & lockdowns.
With the help of funding from The Bollinger Trusl. the Centre has employed a part tim8
member of staff enabling longer opening hour5 ond much needed assislance to the
existing member of staff.
We also formed a new WOTking partnership lo delivei youth work. The Cornforlh
Partnership are now delivering rounded youth work sessions on a Wednesday evening
meeting the needs of l(>14 year olds and o 15+ year old session. ond are port funded
by GAMP AAP and The Ballinger Chariloble Trusl utilising Ihe National Lottery
Community Fund's 'Reoching Communities.
The Centre Is now looking foNard lo forming new portnerships and looking to the
year ahead is very positive, wilh the introduction of quartedy"Pop Up Events" where
the local community can come along and sell their wares. NAYCC focus on inviting
local craflers and vendors.

UK Chorily Law requires the Trustees lo prepare financial statemenls for each
financial year. These must give a Irue and fair view of the state of affairs of the
Charity al the end of Ihe yeor and of incoming and outgoing resources for the
year then ended.
In preparing those financiol slalements. the Tnjstees should lollow best practice
and are required to select suitable accounting policies and Ihen opply them
con5i5tently, make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and
prudent. and prepare the financial slatements on o going concern basis unless
it is inappropriate lo presume that the Chority will continue its activities.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping appropriate occounting records which
disclose with ieasonable accuracy at any time. the financial position of the
Charity and to enoble them lo ensure thal the financial statements comply
with the Charities Act 201 l. The Tnjstees are also responsible for 5afeguording
the assets of the Charity and hence for laking reosonable steps for the
prevention of fraud and other irregularities.
