Objects of the Charlty
The Charity was originally registered on 5 January 1984. On 6 July 2015 the
charity re-registered as o Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
The objects of the CIO are.- To further or benefit the residents of Newton Aycliffe
and District and Ihe surrounding neighbourhood. without distinction of age, race,
gender, sexual orientation, disabilily. political or religious beliefs, or other beliefs or
opinions. by 05sociating together the said residents and local outhoritie5,
voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance the educalion
of young peop5e and to provide facilities in Ihe interest5 of social welfare for
recreation ond leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the
conditions of life for Ihe young people and residents in the area of benefit.
In furtherance of these objects bul not otherwise. the Trustees shall have power:

Centre herein after called NAYCC lo maintain and manage or cooperate with
any statutory aulhority in the maintenance and management of such o centre
for activities promoted by the charity in the furtherance of the above object5.

Newlon Aycliffe Youth Centre (previous namel is a registered charity, number
514673. The governing document is a constitution and was adopted on 27
September 1977 and updated on I l April 201 l and amended on 16 May 2013.
On 9 December 2013. by o Special Resolution the Cenlre became known as
Newton Aycliffe Youth & Community Centre. On I l August 2015, all a55ets were
transferred to the new charity number l 162535 and became a Charitable
Incorporated Organisation. The Constitution uses the Foundation Model whereby
Ihe Trustees are its members, in accordance with the Charities Act 201 i.

Key Noteables
This financial year saw NAYCC coming out of the pandemic and being able to move
foward in a more positive manner- we reengaged with our regular customers,
welcomed a few new ones ond have nurtured our partnerships.
NAYCC welcomed the return of the Rotary Club of Newton Ayclifle's Annual Model
Railway Exhibition after a Iwo-year absence. This evenl always helps to raise
awareness of Ihe Centre and what her full capabilities are.
Both footfall and room capacity has increased. and we saw footfall actually surpass
pre-covid numbers.
The Board of Trustees along with the Centre Manager are in a position now to forge
ahead with o new future for the Cenlre. We look towards exciting times and enter
into an era of change.

statement of Trustee Responslbllltles
UK Chartty Low requires Ihe Trustees to prepare financial stalements for each
financial year. These must give a true and fair view of the stafe of affairs of the
Charity at the end of the yeor and of incoming and outgoing resources for the
year Ihen ended.
In preparing those financial statements. Ihe Trustees should follow best practice
and are required lo select suitable accounting policies and then apply them
consistently. make judgement5 and estimates that are reasonable and
prudent, and prepare the financial statements on a going concern basis unless
it is inappropriate to presume that the Charity will continue its aclivities.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping appropriate accounling records which
disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time. the financial position of the
Charity and lo enable them to ensure that the financial statemenls comply
with the Charities Act 2011. The Trustees are also responsible for safeguarding
the assets of the Charity and hence for taking reasonable steps lor the
prevention of Iraud and other irregularities.
