HOWDEN CLOUGH COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION Charity 1162508 Annual Report 2022 Howden CIouEh Community Association is a CIO with voting members. The existing Trustees. three of whom are elected, and one ex officio. continued in position, and a further Trustee was elected at the AGM in April. Nlne face-to-face meetings of the board, and the AGM, were held during the year. We are again grateful to St Saviours, Church, the Cobbles, and Hannah's for accommodating us when necessary. Seven existing groups who had resumed following the pandemic continued using the Centre through the year, one left due to withdrawal of funding and one found a more suitable venue. Two new activities started but proved unviable. The activities referred to below started, and Phoenix theatre ADG used the Centre for a number of performances. Regular coffee momings continued, holiday play schemes were provided. A film show was planned, but did not get enough support to continue at this time, and Jubilee celebrations were participated in. The Development Manager supervised the second Kick Start trainee, as well as continuing to work on behalf ofthe Trustee5 to develop the Community Centre as a venue and hub forthe provision of Services and activities for the benefit of residents of the Howden Clough area, liaising with the L¢xal Authority and other bodies with similar aims to achieve this. Partnerships with other bodies included implementing the Local Authoritws Initiative to reduce childhood obesity, providing the venue for the second "Bread and Butterf, centre in the local authority, atting as the Anchor hub for developing health and well being activities on behalf of the local authority, health seNice. and Third Sector Leaders. Discu55ions also took place with Leeds City College about providing placements for NVQ3 Health and Social Care students, and DWP for referral of thelr clients to take part in our activities to assist their preparation for return to work. The further young person recruited under the government Kick Start scheme through the local authority gateway. as an assistant to the Development Manager was enabled to further his skills in computer communicatSon and general duties, and in post frorn February to August. The garaEe building for storage of larger and less frequently used equipment was purchased and installed, with associated electric and plumbing work. The water-heating boiler was upgraded to ensure adequate pressure in the central heating. Adjustments were made to the hall lighting 5yStem.

Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordan with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('Ihe Act.).
