Reference and Administrative Details** - **Charity Name:** Vizslamentés UK Rescue Trust - **Registered Charity Number:** 1162503 - **Principal Address:** 28 South Luton Place, Cardiff CF24 0EX - **Names of Charity Trustees:** Judit Whelan, Abigail Moore, Claire Whelan - **Bankers:** Nat West Business Account Vizslamentés UK Rescue Trust came into being as a registered charitable trust on 2nd July 2015 to support the rescue work that was already taking place in Hungary. The trustees of the UK charity are unchanged this year. Judit Whelan is based in Hungary and a co-founder of the Hungarian organisation which started in January 2012. Abi Moore and Claire Whelan are based in the UK. The charity in the UK works to raise funds to support the rescue, rehabilitation, care and treatment of Hungarian Vizslas and related breeds, predominately in Hungary. Part of this is supporting the network of foster homes, predominately in Hungary, during this rehabilitation, care and treatment. The Trustees in the UK and volunteers find adopters and forever homes for those dogs suitable to be re homed in the UK. We work hard to keep in touch with adopters and run an online forum which is available for all adopters. We offer support and advice on an ongoing basis and encourage adapters to participate in the forum. We provide full rescue back to for all of our dogs In the UK, we coordinate a network of volunteers, all of whom are experienced owners and adopters, and with their help we assess and home check applicants to ensure good homes are found. Once homes are agreed, we arrange for the dogs to be transported to the UK. Without the help of this volunteer network we would not be able to help as many dogs as we do and we are very grateful for their support. We promote our breed wherever possible, both in terms of responsible ownership and good health, and aim to offer advice and education where we can. As a charity we now register all dogs with a microchip company on behalf of our adopters. All of our dogs are assessed, vaccinated, receive full blood tests, tick treatment, worming and dogs are brought to the UK using a specialist pet transport company. Funds are raised predominately from donations and specific fundraising by individuals and the UK charity. We receive no other funding or grants Going forward we would like to encourage further regular donations and a gift aid application will be made in the next financial year. The Hungarian organisation uses the donations it receives to feed, shelter and provide medical care to the dogs in its care. A significant proportion of its income comes from the UK charity and without our support the Hungarian organisation would not be able to rescue and continue helping as many dogs as it does. It also finds homes in Hungary for the dogs not being homed in the UK. In 2023 85 dogs were re-homed to the UK We believe that the charity carries out valuable work, all of which is done on a voluntary basis. We are very grateful for the support we receive both from Individuals and groups and acknowledge that without this we would not be able to continue helping as many dogs as we do.
