Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
To relieve and prevent suffering caused by mental or physical ill health or by social or economic circumstances among young people up to the age of 25 years old living in Gloucestershire and the surrounding area, in particular but not exclusively by provision of a counselling service.

The provision of a self-referring, free counselling service for young people up to the age of 25 facilitated by volunteer counsellors, on-line, at varying times, during the Covid-19 pandemic. We provide counselling to up to 12 clients per week. All clients are assessed prior to appointments with their counsellor to establish the level of need and ensure that counsellors are working within their limits.
In so doing, the Trustees have acted entirely ethically and appropriately for the public benefit and within the guidelines of our Constitution as approved and agreed by the Charity Commission.

Our entirely voluntary group consists of 6 trained counsellors, 4 trainee counsellors, 3 supervisors, 1 coordinator, 1 general assistant, and 1 treasurer. As part of our provision of service we accept trainee counsellors at Diploma level who wish to continue their professional development and receive full training and clinical supervision.

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
We have provided regular free counselling, on line and face-to-face for young people in Cheltenham and surrounding areas on 48 weeks of the year. 265 counselling and 75- supervision hours were offered. Client sessions are varied between 6-12 weeks for clients depending on the level of need. Our clients mainly present with the following problems: Emotional/Personal, School/work, Relationship Feedback from our clients collected through questionnaires at the end of their sessions informs us that 83% found our service to be “very helpful”, the remaining 17% considered it “fairly helpful” on a five-point scale. Written feedback when invited to provide extra comments about their experience included the following examples by our clients: “Helped me talk about things on my mind. I am happier.” “Reflection. A place where uncomfortable thoughts could come to the forefront safely.” “Counselling has been a safe haven, a good place for help”
As in 2020/21 we continued support for the trainees taken on between 2019/20 and 2020/21
