We consolidated and started to<br>build our activities post pandemic.<br>We organised events for Diwali, Halloween<br>and Christmas.|





|||Most activities from the Community groups<br>who were using the library pre pandemic are<br>still finding it difficult, however by working<br>other organisations like Age UK we have<br>increased our rental income, by having<br>regular weekly bookings.<br>We are starting to increase our<br>memberships which increased over 3000,<br>largely because of increasing our range of<br>activities and also promoting them via social<br>media.<br>Library was a designated warm hub during<br>the winter months and was an important part<br>of the Harrow Council’s warm hub initiative.<br>Our operating hours as a lending library<br>were extended to 21 hours, by opening three<br>days a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and<br>Saturdays between 10am and 5pm.<br>Actives we undertook: -<br>Knitting club<br>Art Class for Adults<br>Rhyme time<br>Art & Crafts for Children<br>Diwali Party<br>Halloween Party<br>Christmas party<br>Reading Journey for children during the<br>summer holidays<br>Councillor Surgeries|

|Contribution made by<br>volunteers|Para 1.38|NHCL is wholly run by volunteers, and we<br>have recruited from across the whole<br>community of Harrow.<br>As a result of the pandemic, we lost some<br>volunteers who decided not to return,<br>however with our profile growing we are<br>getting new volunteers with 60 on average<br>helping to operate the library during this<br>period.<br>Our most experienced volunteers and the<br>trustees are extremely grateful to all those<br>who kept our services running through<br>another difficult year<br>The age range of volunteers is getting<br>younger, and we are now starting to plan on<br>using these volunteers to add new activities<br>for our communities.<br>For the period 1/10/2022 to 30/09/2023 there<br>were 4762 volunteer hours given by our<br>volunteers.|

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **30 / 09 / 2023** 

**Responsibilities and** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the **basis of report** accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
