Introduction
This report provides an overview of the activities, financial status, and challenges faced by Salle Angelo Fencing Club for the year ending December 2024. Despite a number of difficulties, the club continues to offer fencing opportunities to members, with a focus on recovery and future growth.
Income and Expenditure
For the financial year 2024, the club recorded a total income of £898, while expenditure amounted to £969. This resulted in a small deficit of £71, leaving a year-end balance of £345.67. While the club is managing to continue operating, the finances remain tight, and the current balance is low compared to previous years.
Attendance and Membership Challenges
Attendance at the club has unfortunately continued to decline in 2024, a trend that began during the COVID-19 pandemic. The prolonged lockdown and the subsequent challenges of re-engaging members have severely impacted the club’s membership base. Despite efforts to attract new members and retain existing ones, the club has struggled to fully recover. We have seen a reduction in regular attendance, and consequently, a decline in contributions and membership fees.
Strategic Efforts for Recovery
In response to these challenges, the club has undertaken several strategic initiatives to revitalize its membership and operations. One of the significant developments has been the complete redesign of the club's website, making it more user-friendly, informative, and engaging for potential members. Additionally, new marketing materials have been produced to enhance the club's visibility and appeal.
As we look towards 2025, the club plans to launch a marketing push, aimed at attracting new members and re-engaging those who may have drifted away. We are hopeful that these efforts, combined with a return to more stable times, will help bring the club back to full strength.
Conclusion
While 2024 has been a challenging year for Salle Angelo Fencing Club, the trustees and management are committed to continuing the work necessary to secure the future of the club. The decline in membership and contributions has undoubtedly made it a difficult year, but we remain optimistic that with the efforts underway, we can rebuild and grow in the coming year.
