Communty Pastors would WFsh to continue to thank E88ex PFCC, Greatèr Anglia. E88eX
CommuTr￿ Foundation. Essex Associati¢)n of Local Coun¢i18. Bagildon Borough Council and
all our supportèrs over the last year. Particulady algo lo thank OUT local community for their
overwhelmin9 $UPPOrt following t1￿ arson attack in April 2024. This local support took many
fonns including financial support.

During 2025 the Trustées continued to evaluat• the 2024 relaunch into Communty Pa•tor8
as a Chty in ils own right not b8ing part of o National Prowamme. Sev•ral dffiujlt
decisions had lo be rnad8 in relation to the continued Vtsion and Location of thè Charty.
Agreement was that the Chanty should remain in the wemises ot 10 High Street Billericay
•rKI that during the yoar efforts would be urvjertaken to move tho offirial office to that
location •rKI It Shoukl becomo our rnglstered ba80.
Several difficutt d•cision$ were mode in relation lo the finances of this and it Was agreed that
would come into a lime of sharing tho Iocotion with Revbval Church &'lloriray includiTrJ
their outr•ach project called baby Ba*cs.

into Essex and encouraging signs wern received from Towns induding Dunmow, Bumharn,

had not been repaired after the Arson attack ofAwl 2024. Late in tho year the building was

continue to rent the proporty from them but onty after reducing our footwint to be just

This extension of Ihe Communty Pastors project conb"nue8 to expand wth patrols now
reaching out not only in the local night time economy but also reaching the local GA rail
Network, the local football ground. markets and 1$ setting up a regular outreach in a loc41
Shop premises to be a walk in for anyone needing friendship. conversation and
understanding. They lo continue to SIgn￿t people from Ihore to local servicw for
ongoing sUp￿rt.

is being witnessed.

The refurtm'shment of The C￿nmUnIty Hub contirw to await completion.
Once refurtNshment is Compl￿e It is arti¢ipat•d that Th• Hub will bocome a warm safe
space for memb8rs of our communty to use. In porticular, Community Pasiors have
provided ValUa￿e training for all its volunteers. Tho aim of the training is to equip Communty
Pastors with the skills they need to Liston. Caro. Safeguard, Help and swnpost.

Since July of 2023 we have been fortunate to have the servie•s of Susan Comiack who has
reviewed our ffinan¢es. and these have been IndepefNJently Examined by John Seager.
During the year, the Trustees took steps to strengthen the charity's financial position by
successfully regi8tering for Gift Pid. A3 a resutt. the charity is now able to redaim the basic
rate of tax on eli9ible donations made by UK taxpayers. in¢roasing the value of theso
contributions at rK) addrtional cost lo donors. This development provth$ an important
additional Sourc¢ ol income and will enhance the charrty's ability to deliver its objeth'ves. The
Trustees will Continue to promotè Gift AKI to supporters to maximisè the benefft of future
donation8.
Fund Ral•ln
Communty Pastors arè, like other charities, dyndant on donation￿grants in order to
continue to operate. We have in place for 2025 a Project Co￿dInal0r and a Fund Bidder.
Together they have been successlul in initiating and securing a numbor of bids.
Patrol•.
Communty Pastofs continuo to havo a presence in our communities and patrol regularty In
the followlng arèas..
Rall.
There are a number of weekly patrol• conducted along the GreaterAnglia IGA) lines from
Shenfield to south6￿ColChester and Harfow to Cambridge. Community Pastors are well
re￿i¥•d bth by rail uws and GA staff. Patrol reports are forwarded to GA management
who expre￿ an appreciation for all the posthve impact the Communrty Pastors have. Our
main role during ihese rail patrols is to support the effort$ of the Industry in Inter￿ning into

Suicidal and Mental Heatth 8Ctivty. Our Pastor8 are trained by the Samantan8 for this vital
part of our work.
Sch¢)018.
Community Pa$tor8 continue lo have a presence in both Mayfiower and Billericay Schools
and provide support to both pupil$ and school staff. We Continue to have a pre$en¢e at
Pioneer School in Basildon and are looking to expand th18 side of our activity in 2026.
Communty Pastors continued to have weekly Friday nigm patrol$ through 2025. We
continue to give out Flip Flops, Water and Lolly Pops lo anyone that might need them. We
have many anecdotal $tori88 of how our Teams continue to 8UPPOrt people that are either or
become vulnerable during the evening.
Pray•r P••tors.
Denise Goodyear and Bruce Bott have been instrumental in developing this valuable group.
They have initiated tho att8ndanrA of Prayer Pastors at The Hub prior to patrols going OLrt
and facilrtating the ongoing channels for Community Pastors to send prayer requ6st$ whilst
out on patrol. They have also initiated prayer walks through The Communty Hub and regular
monthly prayar time with communlon.

We are vèry fortunate to have tho $eNices of Pete ￿ttit8, vtho has inttiated the info4raph8
vthich give an excellent depidion of Community Pastor activrties on our street$ and across
the rail n¢tsvork. l$ee page 11). In addition, he produces the Termly COMPASS nevA sheet
which gives an ovthiiew of a¢tivitie8 in pictorial and news rnporting ¥tylo.
Trnlnlng.
A comprehensiv• Tralnlng Proqr•mm• is ongoing, with trainlng session8 completed during
the year with further sessions planned in 2026. We continue with subjects including Roles
and Responsibilities. First Aid, Evangelism (Harve81 Now), Safeguarding, Communication
Skills and J9 Domestic Abuse.
Dl8¢losur• and Barrlng S•Nlc• (D8S).
A programme of ensuring we are Safeguarding compllant has been carried out. We
complete DBS Checks to ensure each person patrolling is in possession of a Current and
valid Enhanced DBS. This exercise is ongoing a8 new recruit8 join Communrty Pastors.

These hava baen reviewed ovor the last year and are available for all Community Pastors to
a¢¢e83.
We now look forward with anticipation to 2028 with all the new potential opportuni1188 we
have, lo bring the love of J••u• lo as many p80ple as we can in our as80¢iated towns and

Community Pastor4 has grown from incredibly Ihi818St year in Saffron Wdlden wlth
continued support coming in from different County organisalion8 including th8 Police,
Council, Greater Anglia and Cafa Comell a work based Academy part of the Enterpri80 East
cic.
Patrols on lh• GrvterAnglia railway continuè with many special interactrons occurring with
staff and travellers a like. We have attended the $lation$ as part of th8 Suiride Protection
plan and also as a patrol visit post fatality. We have vi8ited every Staffed station and they all
have Community Pastor's posteTr.
hav• buirt up a good relalionship with the Management team at Saffron Walden Town FC
o are very happy that we now attend homo matche6.
In the Year we wlll ¢ontinuo to recnjit and train now volunt•ers and will look to get local
training for Youth Culture, Drug Awareness, Samaritans Suicide Awarena88 and First Aid.
Dunng 2025 we have stabilised our volunteer numbers and continue to i)ngag• wth potential
new volunteers via our outreach sessions held at local Chrigtian Churche8.
