Coach House AGM April 2026
My report starts again with the sorry news that we have made no progress as to when we will be able to consider our work on converting the Coach House to become a village amenity. When we started the Committee many years ago we had no idea that it would be so difficult to complete.
Our ever decreasing committee is too small to continue to function. During the last year we have tried, without success, to swell the numbers of the Committee thus making it possible for us to continue to progress our plans. We have continued to advertise in the village noticeboard, use social media and also by word of mouth to try to find new members.
David Galloway regularly checks the outside walls of the coach house to ensure there is no further deterioration to this listed building.
The Chairman is continuing to seek a builder that will attempt the
underpinning of the building which became necessary due to damage by tree roots. The last quote we had was at an exceptional cost and we need to have more input from other companies, who may offer alternatives to preserve this building.
Finally we as a Committee are now considering closing all further action to bring the coach house into use as we have failed to attract further members. We must also consider the vast increase in cost of building work and how difficult it will be to raise the required amounts to fulfil our objectives to bring the Coach House into use for the village.
