Coach House AGM April 2023 Not held due to illness of three committee members A joint report by the Chairman and Secretary

My report starts again with no news as to when we will begin our work on converting the Coach House to become a village amenity. When we started the Committee 11 years ago we had no idea that it would be so difficult to complete.

No meetings have been held due to the ongoing fallout from the Covid 19 pandemic. Three of our Committee members are still isolating due to health issues and the safety of all connected with our Committee is of prime concern and so at this time no further work can be done. We are hoping that at some point they will follow current government guidance and agree to attend meetings. We have once again tried to swell the numbers of the Committee without success as this would have enabled us to continue to progress our plans. All we can do is continue to advertise in the village noticeboard and also by word of mouth to try to find new members.

During the later part of the year Committee member David Galloway did a lot of work to the rear and south side of the Coach House to remove ivy that had started to establish on the walls as it was felt that the brickwork could be damaged by this growth. He also dug out the rather large pyracantha that had started to take over the south east wall, this was for the same reason as the ivy, protecting the stonework of the Coach House.

The Chairman has been seeking to find a builder that does underpinning with no success. She asked our local builder who lives here in the village and as yet has not heard back from him.

I think that is all we can add at this time. We as a Committee remain

committed to continuing and reaching our goal but the Covid situation and ill health is out of our control.

Cathy Galloway, Chairperson, Airmyn Coach House Committee April 2022

David Galloway, Secretary.
