SMMMS-UK continued to operate its free Clinic in Kiyet, Janamora through June 2024 to provide basic medical and healthcare services, focusing on women’s reproductive, maternal and neonatal healthcare (RMNH) including 24/7 emergency and delivery services as well as providing accommodation expectant mothers and basic health education to more than 14,400 residents in local communities. On 86 July 2024 we completed the transfer of the clinic to the North Gonder Zone Department of Health and the Janamora Health Office in accordance with our final project agreement. This concluded our activities in Ethiopia. |

On 3 January 2023, we renewed our registration with the Ethiopian Agency for Civil Societies as a foreign charity authorised to operates in Ethiopia. In January 2024 we entered into a new six-month project agreement with the North Gonder Zone of the Amhara Region for “Improving Women’s Healthcare Services in the North Gondar Zone” which will culminate with the transfer of our activities to the North Gonder Zone Department of Health. |
