Governance and Management** The Regal Film Society is registered as an unincorporated charity with the Charity Commission, and is subject to a Constitution dated 12 May 2015. Under the Constitution Trustees are appointed at the Annual General Meeting and are re-elected annually. Trustees are drawn from members of the society. There is an informal induction process for trustees. If required, support is readily available for newly elected trustees. ## **Objectives and Activities** The object of the Regal Film Society is to advance the education of the public in the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the arts, particularly the art of film and allied visual techniques. in furtherance of the foregoing object, but not otherwise, the society shall have the power to arrange showings of films to its members and to the public particularly but not exclusively in the Regal Theatre, Minehead, as well as to promote the study and appreciation of films by means of lectures, discussions and exhibitions. The Trustees have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charities Commission in exercising their powers or duties. ## **Achievements and Performance** During the year, the Regal Film Society held 35 screenings open to members and the public, showcasing both mainstream and independent titles, which do not receive the exposure they deserve in commercial cinemas. In addition, 2 film screenings and 1 live stream were given to local schools. Average members per film was 49, and average public was 65. The average members for live streaming was 33, and average public was 58. ## **Financial Review** The Society holds £40,382 cash at bank at the year-end all of which is unrestricted apart from a grant of £385 given for the free showing of a family film. The Trustees aim to hold at least £40,000 in unrestricted reserves at the year end, in order to meet the cost of the Projector replacement and any unforeseen expenditure that may occur.
