Since September 2021 we have been
able to run regular activities
like our
monthly
coffee mornings
and our art, tai
chi and singing
groups along with our
twice monthly
Square Hole Club for
people
living with early onset/early
stage
dementia. We are slowly bringing
back
our social events and in July 2022 we
held our annual
summer
garden
party
followed
by a harvest
lunch
in
September. We are planning
a Retail
Therapy day in November
and will invite
all our members
to a Christmas
lunch
in
December.
We run a fortnightly
day club for people
diagnosed
with early onset dementia
or
who are in the early stages ofdementia.
Square Hole Club is our USP. There is
nothing else like itfor younger or 'early
stage' people
in the county —the nearest
is in Leicestershire. We are featured on
the Young Dementia
UK website.
We have not held any official dementia
friends sessions this year but we have
started
giving talks in the community
about our services and various aspects
ofsupporting
the person
living with
dementia.
We have more planned
in the
coming months.
During
Dementia Awareness
Week (16'"
to 20 May 2022) we gave a talk in
Stamford to over 100people
highlighting
our work with people
living with early
onset dementia
and invited the
community
to our art group and the
Bourne and Stamford coffee mornings,
all ofwhich fell that week.
