OUR OBJECTIVES

REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Jan – March 2021

Judo was closed due to COVID.

– April July 2021

Phase one of return to judo. Kids classes with restricted numbers. Hygiene measures had to be taken, signs had to be put in the dojo covid protection measures were put in place.

August 2021

A return to judo for adults. A 15 min break was established in between the classes to reduce the numbers within the dojo and keep potential transmission to a minimum.

October - December 2021

A return to competitive judo. The club attended the English closed, C2 international and British Championships. There were some excellent results most notably Lewis Fryer winning his 4[th] national title, Alex Jenkins winning his first and Michael Fryer getting a bronze. Michael continues to be part of the GB full time programme and the club are supporting Lewis Fryer, Evie Halvey Jacob, Alex Jenkins and Sam Collins as part of the GB/England programmes.

Steve Temple and Carl Walker completed their level 1 BJA coaching courses, as a result of the clubs “investment in the future” plan.

Coach Guy Platten has now established a technical invitation only class on weds for performance players. This is proving to be a huge success.
