or social and economic circumstances or for the
public at large in the interests of social welfare
and with the object of improving the condition of
life of the said inhabitants; and
[d] The advancement of the Christian faith

Para 1.19		 Our Money Advice Service runs 3 days per
week across 3 Churches.
The Service sits alongside our existing Food
Poverty work and offers a ‘wrap around’ support
service to clients.
We continue to support the Parishes of Walton
Breck and St Georges Everton in securing
funding for their ‘Scouse’ (Hot meals for the
disadvantaged), Foodbank and two Food
Pantries.
The successful partnership with ‘The Henry
Smith Charity’ in the distribution of small parish
grants, for the relief of immediate hardship
and/or poverty continues with the award of a
further grant in 2023.
The trust ensures equitable distribution of grants
across 3 parishes: The Parish of Walton Breck,
St George’s (Everton) and the parish of St
Peter’s and St John Chrysostom.

Advice work from the original 6 hour role based
at Christ Church to a 12 hour role based at 3
centres has been achieved and has, for some
time, been our settled pattern. This is thanks to
the generous funding and support that we have
received.
The Debt / Money Advice work is firmly
attached to the food poverty support in each of
the centres; reaching many of those most in
need. The many ‘success’ stories have been
due to the recruitment of skilled debt advisor,
with the right interpersonal skills to build
positive relationships.
We anticipate the workload of the Money
Advisor increasing, with 2024 looking as though
it may be another challenging year for many.

Financial Review

Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period		 Para 1.21 In our 8th full year (2023) we have been able to
meet all our financial requirements and hold a
good financial balance at the end of the
financial year.
The accounts continue to show a healthy
balance, although almost all funds are restricted
for specific projects. We hold very little
unrestricted funds.
Trustees continue to monitor funding closely,
with financial updates available at every trustee
meeting.
