and children in need in Fiji. Our purpose is the prevention
or relief of poverty in the Fiji Islands by providing or
assisting in the provision of educational support and

development, training opportunities, improved
infrastructure, improved access to health care and all

focused upon advancing health for rural
communities in hardship. The charity chose to focus on this
area, due to being such a highly relevant issue as the
world faced the impacts of global pandemic, COVID-19.
During the year, Think Pacific Foundation worked with
remote
communities
to
achieve
the building and
completion of three health centres, in poor and rural
communities in Fiji. All materials and local planning and
labour costs were funded by the foundation. These projects
advance health and wellbeing in rural areas, including helping
to facilitate the vaccination roll out in the Fiji Islands.

Additional support was provided
to
facilitate
local
training
and
youth
empowerment
initiatives
for
unemployed and disadvantaged youth in Fiji. The charity
also provided donations to support communities suffering
damage due to cyclones and assist local relief projects.

provided all
grants
to
Think
Pacific
Foundation
(Fiji)
which
is
a
separate local
registered
charitable
trust
in
the Fiji
Islands (FJ
989)
in
order
to
achieve the

communities in Fiji, where the evidence of

All grants were provided to Think Pacific
Foundation (Fiji) a charitable trust
registered in the Fiji Islands. This
organisation has long standing
connections to Think Pacific Foundation
and enables monies to be entirely
monitored and used most purposefully to| |||the greatest needs identified by the
Trustees on the ground in Fiji.
Having trustees on the ground in Fiji was a
key benefit to understanding and applying
donations to the best possible use and

Pacific Foundation during the year, the
charity was able to facilitate several
core objects to improve the lives of
people living in hardship. These
included:
**Improving local infrastructure**
Donations were used to providethe
entire construction of three health centre
buildings. The achievement of these
projects enables the village nurse to
have a facility to provide consultations
and also act as a secure dispensary for
medicines. The project is supported by
the Fijian Ministry of Health, who Think
Pacific Foundation (Fiji) sought advise
and endorsement before completing to
ensure the facilities meet national
standards and directives for health.
Health Clinics were completed in
Naqelecibi Village and Narikoso village
and Namoli Village, all in the remote Ra
province, which was heavily impacted
by cyclone damage in recent years.| . ## **Health Training & Advocacy:** Alongside the building of the facilities, grant funding was provided to support the training of local people in first aid training and promote advocacy of health in conjunction with Fiji Red Cross. The aim was to advance local knowledge and skills as well as promote awareness of health in remote and poor areas. Fiji is a country with one of the highest rates of non-communicable disease and awareness campaigns are vital to reduce this national issue, which particularly impacts poorer communities. **Youth Empowerment** Think Pacific donated education and sports resources to enable 57 youths to engage in a youth leadership and empowerment project focused on developing life skills and employment prospects to young men and women living in hardship. The programmes were delivered for youth groups of Nabudrau Village, Namoli Village and Naqelecibi Village **Cyclone Relief & Resilience** Think Pacific Foundation made grants to local Fijian organisations to support initiatives to help communities impacted by cyclones.
