|needed<br>to ensure the future<br>viability of the chanty, which included<br>restaning<br>most ofour face io face services, continuing<br>and developing<br>those services|that could||
|continue<br>to bo effectively delivered<br>on line and moving some service away from the buildings<br>of the Royal Berkshire Hospital, while ensunng<br>that our excellent|||
|rmationships<br>at ag staff levels in the hospital ere maintained.|||
|Wc opened a new headquarters<br>office and troatment<br>centre<br>in Chervil, Reading, commissioned<br>a new centre at Ihe Deanwood<br>therapy centre in Newbury<br>and|||
|continued<br>to offer acupuncture<br>services<br>in the College of Integrated<br>Chinese<br>Medicine<br>in Readmg<br>and in Ihe Royal Berkshire Healthspace<br>in Brackneg|||
|During<br>the penod we successfully<br>added arts therapy to our services, through<br>collaboration<br>srith the Arts Therapy College in London and at the year-end|we added||

|and relaxation<br>techniques,<br>b )providing<br>faolities for lite practice ofyoga, Tai Chi and mindfulness<br>training<br>and c)the provision<br>ofadvice and information'.|||

|The principal<br>long term aim of the chadity,<br>and<br>ongoing<br>objectives<br>of the Trustees,<br>is now to offer complementary<br>Iherapies<br>to any patient<br>in Berkshire<br>who||has|
|recently<br>been<br>diagnosed<br>viith cancer,<br>with<br>a 'face to face' service<br>and<br>to provide<br>an on-line<br>complementary<br>Iherapy<br>service<br>in Mindfulness<br>lo cancer patients|||
|anywhere<br>in Ihe UK, on request,<br>and to continue<br>to develop<br>Chervil as our dedicated<br>centre ofexcellence for the service. We conbnue<br>to confine our offenng to||adult|
|paients<br>recently diagnosed<br>mth cancer and to their carers|||
|Mrs Victona<br>Latchford,<br>our Operations<br>Director, continues<br>to develop<br>the management,<br>administration<br>and governance<br>of Ihe chanty,<br>with<br>the CEO. We||have|
|appointed<br>a Lead Therapist<br>to manage<br>Ihe leadership<br>and governance<br>of our volunteer<br>therapists,<br>a feed Service Delivery<br>Manager<br>to oversee<br>Ihe delivery of our<br>service and a part arne lead for our fundraising.<br>With the support<br>ofour treasurer<br>and governance<br>staff from the Royal Berkshire<br>hospital,<br>and some IT and clinicai|||
|governance<br>consultants,<br>we are now more comfortable<br>that our administration<br>and governance<br>is satisfactory,<br>vsth trustees<br>informed<br>about any risks we face|||
|Led by the CEO and Trustees,<br>the service is deltvered<br>by managers<br>and volunteers<br>We continue<br>to work closely rwith the Royal Berkshire<br>Hospital,<br>Berkshire Cancer Centre, and other charibes ofrelevance<br>in the support ofcancer patients<br>and with Ihose organisations<br>that can help us to find and|particularly<br>the<br> retain suffiaent||
|volunteers<br>to develop the service|||

|Our fundraising<br>group, some members<br>of which have had some expedience<br>with cancer, either personally<br>or in their families, have continued<br>to work|extremely|hard|
|and have generated<br>enough<br>money,<br>together<br>with some very generous<br>donations<br>to ihe charity,<br>to fund<br>our planned<br>growth,<br>manage<br>the chaniy|throughout|the|
|constraints<br>ofthe pandemic<br>and increase our reserves<br>sufficiently<br>to be able to fund our services and their planned<br>growth<br>for the next two years<br>We|owe them|atl a|
|big debt for afi this very successful work.|||
|Volunteers|||
|The chanty<br>continues<br>to be supported<br>by aiifiing volunteers<br>in meeting<br>iis oblectives<br>and some of its administrative<br>activity and Ihe trustees<br>would|like to take this||
|opponunity<br>lo say how much<br>they appreaate<br>their continuing<br>and valuable<br>support.<br>tndeed,<br>somo of them were heavily<br>involved<br>in the development|of our on-line||
|services, despite<br>being unable<br>to eam their living<br>in their own practices,<br>due to lockdown<br>We owe them a real debt<br>The trustees<br>consider that no measurable||value|
|can be placed on their contnbution<br>for the purpose<br>ofour accounts bul in practical terms, they are invaluable.|||
|Achievements<br>and Performance|||
|Our valuable<br>relationship,<br>with the Directors ofthe Royal Berkshire Hospital and the consultant<br>oncologlsts,<br>clinical nurse specialists,<br>management<br>and administrative|||
|staff at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation<br>Trust, has been maintained,<br>with mutual<br>support being cadenced<br>on both sides.|||
|We have teamed to manage<br>and maintain<br>those good relationships<br>Ihrough<br>various<br>staff changes<br>Ihat have occurred<br>in the Hospital. The Hospital Tmst continues<br>io|||
|donate Ihe use ofrooms to deliver our services at the Bracknefi Healthspace<br>and to allow the charily lo maintain a communication<br>presence, for patients, at Ihe||Royal|
|Berkshire hospital|||
|The Trust also continues<br>to provide<br>training<br>of Ihe therapists<br>in Ihc NHS 'cancer pathway',<br>enabling<br>the MCMC services to be tailored<br>to patient need|We now|have|
|29 volunteer<br>therapists<br>and 0 volunteers<br>to meet and greet people who viish to access the service.<br>It is our obiective<br>to recruit 4 more therapists<br>and|4 more meeter||
|greeters<br>in Ihe next finanmai year|||
|Our operations<br>director supported<br>by the lead therapwt<br>and the admin officer and with the help of the CEO and trustees, several volunteers<br>and some|paid||
|cansultants,<br>continued<br>to develop Ihe administration,<br>governance<br>and business<br>systems<br>needed<br>to run the charity and support our planned<br>growth. This has sabsfied|||
