Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
The object of the Charitable Incorporated Organisation is the proclamation and furtherance of the Gospel of God concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord and the preaching and teaching of the Christian faith at Main Street Community Church and elsewhere in accordance with the Declaration of Faith set out in the schedule to the constitution.
The Trustees ensured that the work we carried out was consistent with the guidance from the Charity Commission on public benefit and with our charitable aims and objectives.
Main Street Community Church believes that the Christian faith is proclaimed through action as well as by words. Our activities over the year have continued to demonstrate that belief and were conducted so as to be open to the community in which we are situated, regardless of whether beneficiaries consider themselves to be members of the church or not. The name “Main Street Community Church” was chosen to reflect our involvement in, and support for, the community in which we are situated.
1. Our Church premises are registered as a place of religious worship and regular services were held on Sunday mornings throughout the year. All services are open to all. Our premises have also been used for funerals and a wedding and have frequently been open to provide space for private prayer and reflection. We also run weekly evening and daytime bible study and discussion groups.
Summary of the 2. We contributed to the spiritual and moral education of children through main activities weekly Sunday School classes (Sunday Clubs) and ‘all age’ worship undertaken for the services and ‘Friday Break’ Carer and baby sessions which we ran for the public benefit in first part of the year until it became clear that there was no longer a relation to these demand for these activities. We have, however, continued to present objects (include Christian beliefs concerning Christmas and Easter through running within this section Christmas and Easter Journeys, which were attended by pupils from the statutory around 15 local primary schools, and which are recognised as supporting declaration that the schools in their delivery of the RE curriculum. trustees have had regard to the 3. We provided support for elderly people within the community through guidance issued activities, including (i) providing services of worship in local nursing by the Charity homes and care homes, (ii) assisting elderly people to attend our own Commission on services, if they wish to do so, (iii) running a fortnightly ‘Friendship Group’ public benefit) where elderly people meet for tea, conversation and other activities.
4. We have provided facilities for other organisations to conduct activities that we regard as consistent with the practical application of Christian beliefs, for example the Alzheimer’s Society’s Singing for the Brain and the weekly Memory Café. Our facilities are also used on a regular basis for rehearsals by the One Voice Community Choir.
5. We have made grants and provided practical support to a wide range of other organisations, including those engaged in (i) spiritual education of children within local schools, (ii) poverty relief and community development in developing countries,
6. We play an active part in Churches Together in Frodsham working together with other churches in the Town on events and initiatives throughout the year including work in local schools, joint services and Christian Aid Week collection.
7. We provide pastoral care, visiting and caring for those who are unwell or facing difficult times, and their families.

Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves
No formal policy on reserves has been adopted but our normal approach is to maintain reserves of around 50% of annual expenditure which the trustees regard to be a prudent but not excessive amount. However, as a result of some large donations in the previous year, reserves are currently running somewhat above this.
