Repair from strength lo strength. Staff have settled in lo new homeloffice working arrangomenls whilg visilirg
staff in Ihe charity and our tradlng arm havg also ex¢glled In their pers8verance and 118xibility lo provide
servlee5 for our ¢llents. My thanks go lo Richard, his tnanag8ment t8am'. Julia Folland, Etnily Laker and

on-golng mutual support b8tWe8n th8 organisations serves and beneflts everyone. This year, yel agaln,
the ¢harily will gain Irom a substantlal contribution frorn this trading arm which we will, as usual, pul to gDod

Th8 rolo ol Trusi065 has been tested over the past lew years. l arn pl8ased to say that th8 Board has not b88n

In Cardill and the Vale of Glamorgan, many old8r people I￿e In properties that a￿ in disrepair requiring basi¢
andlor urgent repair. Furthermor8, rnany (swellings conlairi potential risks lo health and wellbeing ol older
P80p18. particularly risks Irotn excessivè cold or falls. Oldei pgople are a very diversg group and their
requirements 8r8 not homog&nous. Their need5 can be varied and complex. However, the vasl majority of
okler people stste they want to remaln livlng Indopendonlly within Ih8ir own homes for as long as possible.
In Cardiff and the Vak of Glamorgan, il is 8slimated that there are 168,529 okler people aged 50 years and
ovor Ilvlng In the region or some 34V• of Ihg lolal populalion (Source. ONS- Census 2021 Dalal. Our furKllng
limits the number of oldgr people w8 can help aTid we experience consistent high levels of demand loi our
services. As such. priorily is often given bas8d on an oldsr person's age, clrcum51ances and the nature ol their

homg saf8ly advic8. The S8FVIC6 provides expert technical advic8 and support to older people. lor example
advising on the need for and the exlenl of repair8, lfflprov8tnenls and adaptatlons., the polenllal cost ol work-
assisting with the wovi5ion ol schedules of work.. undertaking tendering procedurgs from lists Of approved
builders,. providing clerk of works $ervic8. sile visits and inspections and otteilng advice on comp181ion.
We Involve beneli¢laries directly in the delivery ol the service they receive by ensuring it 18ilored accordlNJ
to Ihalr needs. Wh8n w8 vSsit 8n older person, our servl¢g Ilslens to what an old8r p8rsoft wants needs

such. the servlce Is able to recognlse Ihe dlv8r8lly of needs of the Indlvldual and Ihgrelore tallor the s8rvic8
specifically lor Ihem. Some older people rnay just want lo be proviiJed with inlormalion on oplions avallable to
