Independent Examiner's Report to the trustees of Trinity Church - Buxton We port on the accounts of the charity for the year ermled 31 Marth 2021 which are set out on pages 2to6. Respective responsibilities of tnistees and examiner The charivs trustees are reSnSIble for the prepation of the accounts. The charitys trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under secbon 14412) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an irbdependent examination is required. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Att. to floW the protrdures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under secbon 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act); a1 to stste whether particular matter5 have come to my attentTron. Basis of independent examinerfs statement My examination was carried in aCCordare wth the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination indudes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. 3. Treasurer’s report and questions
Peter Farrant
Giving Review returns: 44 forms returned (normally about 50), suggesting a 10% increase in giving.
Reminder given re: Gift Aid.
2020/2021: Budget income £178K, actual income £185K. Ended year with a small surplus (approx £8K).
2021/2022: Budget income £185K. Budget expenditure £203K. Increased costs for Associate Minister (full year) and CSY Worker (steps down £5K each year). Projected deficit of £18K.
Accounts acceptance proposed by Paul Bennett, seconded by Liz Denno. Accounts accepted.

4. Minister’s report and questions
Bob Marsden
Bob reflected that those who have stayed connected with Trinity during the pandemic will come out of this stronger in faith and trusting Jesus more.
Bob thanked Kate as Venue Manager and those that have helped prepare risk assessments, Nigel and the webs stream team, Graham and Nigel as church wardens.
Emerging from lockdown: Bob talked about returning to church currently and post-Covid. Pray for those who seem to have drifted away.
What should church life and ministry look like as we move out of lockdown? Pray that the consultation is helpful and useful. This is a good opportunity for reviewing what we do.

5. Safeguarding
Thanks and prayer for the Safeguarding Team (Bob, Anna, Maria, Kate). The team report regularly to the Church Council.
We want a church culture to be one that is safe and welcoming.
6. Church Council

Glenda Hunter and Mike Smith step down from the Church Council. We thank God for their service.
John Eastwood (to serve five years). Proposed: Kate Smith; Seconded: Jonathan Buston. Alex Parker has agreed to serve another two years. Proposed: John Tromans; Seconded: Paul Bennett
We are still short of members on Church Council. This is not a concern but something for the church family to be aware of.
Graham Todd and Nigel Reid are willing to continue as Churchwardens. Bob thanked them for their hard work.
Bob also gave thanks for David and Helen Barnsley.
