Objectives and activities

The principal object of the charity is to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Bestwood Park Estate, and the neighbourhood without distinction of sex, or of political, religious, or other opinions, by association the local authorities, voluntary organisations, and inhabitants, in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants.

To establish, or secure the establishment of, a community centre and to maintain and manage the same (whether alone or in co-operation with any statutory authority or other person or body) in furtherance of the objects; To promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined. The charity shall be non-party in politics and non-sectarian in religion. The area of benefit shall be the Bestwood Park estate area of Nottingham and the neighbourhood together defined by trustees as the surrounding areas.

The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty in section 4 of the Charities Act 2006 to have due regard to the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit, 'Charities and Public Benefit'
