HEYSHAM CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE ANNUAL RF.PORT OF THE TRUSTEES Foli THE YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2024 Trustees The trustecs who served the charity during the year were as follows: Mr L Carter (Secretary) Miss J Lindley (I reasurer) Mr B Schofield Strueture, Governanee and Management All Truste¢s &r¢ members of the church, serving in various rol¢s wilhin the church and are meeting and cornmunicating regularly with each other. Public Benefit, Achievements and Performance The Trustees have given due regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on 'publi¢ benefit.. This past year we have seen many good things happening al Heysham Church of the Nazarene. We havc startcd a Sunday school for the children. We have had a couple of Childr come along to Sunday school from the youth club and at Christmas the majority of the youth club took part in our nativity production with many of the children's families coming along to watch, we have also started a house prayer group that meets fortnightly which has only recently started but has been going really well over the last lew weeks. We have seen a slight numerical growth in the congregation. On Good Friday we carried a 6 foot cross out into the community and had a communion service by the bay. We have continued our free bacon butty moming on the last Saturday of th¢ month and it ¢ontinue5 to bring people in from the local community. Also in summer we had a Church barbecue which went really well and was an opportunity to invite families from the youth club and members of the local community. We had a men.s snooker night that was a good lime for the en to hav¢ some fellowship together. At harvest we had live music and a pie supper to celebrate and a fantastic donation of food was donated and distributed to the local food bank. Al Chrislm&s ihe congregalion and youlh club donated 26 shoeboxes for the Sanwltans purse app¢al and toys were donated to the local salvatioll arniy big toy appeal. We have enjoycd being part of the catalyst network which has allowed us to join together with other churches across the northwest of England. It has been good meeting togelher and discussing ide&s and being able to support one another. The charity has suificient funds to meet its liabilities.
HEYSHAM CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE ANNUAL REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2024 Risk Management 'Irustees have considered the particular risks of fraud, the need to ensure compliance with legislatio being sued by an outside body and the integrity of computer systems used and have taken appiopriate steps to control these risks and mitigate impact. The charity is aware of Safeguarding procedur¢s and takes advice from CCPAS on these matters. There have been no serious incidents requiring reporting to the Charity Commission during the year. Financial Review Income is mainly d¢riv¢d from lithes and offerings from church members and rental incom¢ from the Mansc. Thc Iruste¢s are presented with a fmancial statement by the Treasurer at their meetings and discuss thc details. Financial decisions are usually made at the meetings. The Treasurer keeps the appropriate legal records which fully satisty the legal requirements placed on Trustees. Fr¢¢ res¢rv¢s as at th¢ year end were £41,(K)7 (2023 - £40,679). A resolution was proposed and agreed at the charities Am]ual General Meeting that Mr T M Pr¢ec¢ of Xeinadin continue as the appointed Accountants of the charity for the year.
