## YEAR ENDING 30th June 2024 Report 

This year has had to be one of the most challenging years both mentally and physically, running the community centre with the minimal of Volunteers and being busy, having to train volunteers only for them to leave, it’s difficult to manage everything as well as my family life. The centre is doing well; with minimal volunteers we have to turn away party bookings at the weekend due to staff shortages. We are finding that no one wants to commit to volunteering full time or give up their time on the weekend, we are also finding it hard to find new trustees no one wants to commit full time which is really difficult. This lack of consistent support has created a significant strain on operations, especially during peak times when demand for services increases. Without a reliable volunteer base, we are unable to offer the full range of programs that the community relies on, such as youth mentoring, after-school activities, and senior wellness workshops.  Additionally, the absence of dedicated trustees means that decision-making processes are delayed, and long-term planning is hindered. We have tried outreach programs, offering flexible shifts and incentives, but these have not yielded sustainable results. There is a growing sense of disconnection between the centre and the people it serves. To address this, we are exploring partnerships with local schools, businesses, and faith-based organizations to create structured volunteer programs and provide training that could lead to long-term engagement.  While the centre continues to serve essential needs, the current situation highlights the urgent need for investment in community engagement strategies and support systems that can retain and attract volunteers and trustees. Without these changes, the future of the centre remains uncertain, and the impact on the community will only grow more pronounced.
