we have brought to those groups of children we were set up to help. The review also helps us en5UTe
that M'e meet our aims and objectives and that our activities remain Eocu5ed on our 5knted purposes. By
reviewing our aims and objecttyes and plallning our future *cttvi¢ies. the dirertors consider hom, the future
planned activsties will contribute to the above aims and objective5.

form of cancer in l.ebanon or the surrounding region, or who are in need of rehabilitation as

may determine,.
the preservation and protecti(¥n of the physical and mental health of individLEals and familie5
in Lebanon and the gurrounding region who are suffertng ber@avement or loss by the
provision of cowiseiin8 and support- and the advancement of edueation in ￿bartort in the
subject of pediatric can￿r in particular by providing fundingforresearchinto pediatric cancer
and to publish the usefulresults of such research.
In the financial year 2023, our main acttviti¢> continued to serve the objectives by Saving the live5 and
helping treat children suffering from cancer and support in research that will eventually help to ftnd
better cures and increase the raho OF CUTing those patients. The strategies we used to raise fI￿a$ for

21 How Our Activities Deliver Public Benefit
The directors have paid due regard to guidance on public benefit Issued by the Charity Commission

All of our (I￿rItable activities focus on raising funds to help treat children suffering from canter. The
Charity approves srants applied lor by CCCL Lebanon to cover the ¢05t ol treating children sufferiJ)8 froni
cancer, in line with our objectives.
Funds may a150 be needed to cover accommodati¢)n costs of patients with acute medical conditions
who r(side wkth their £amilie5 in places far from the medical certter and who are requtred to be nearin
case of any eniergency.
To support the developnEnt of medical protocols, the researth program on pediatric cancer, and the
awareness campaign of CCCL Lebanon, m.hich will also lead to educatkn8 the general public/donor5
and supporters through fundraising campaigns where audiovisual and print material will be shared
with the public.
The directors ensure that all grants made or being made will be to further our charilzble purposes for
the above benefits.
31 Achtevements and
Our grants-making policy is to provide grants to CCCL Lebanon. The number of Children treated by
CCCL Lebanon tn Beirut ha5 reached 400 ca$es in 2023 land more than 4.(XJO cases to date). CCCL
Lebanon's medical servxces are accessed by all ethnic backgrounds, religions, gender, and nationality
as proven by their adTnission records. CCCL tEbanun aims to maintain the equality of access to their
service5, which we believe i5 Vital to our dea5ion in approving graiits, and it M'ill be an ongoing
condition in future decisions, b￿caUSe no child should die without irying all treatrftez)ts available to
save his/her life.
CCCL Lebanon treats children from birth to 18 years old. In cases of relapse. CCCL Lebanon will
support continuing treatment,. the grants approved by our charity could also cover counseling or
teaching Servic￿ provided by CCCL Lebano￿ whÈch will ensurethe recovery of children and the
ellbein8 of the Pcitients.

donated an esttmated 150 hours of volunteering in 2023

Financial Review
The funding OF grants 82ven by CCCLUK is raised froni donatiOn5, events and eventg sponsors.
CCCLUK made £46,855 in grants to CCCL Lebanon in 2023 Lllone of which is re5tt'icted. This saved
many chi]dren as this helped in covering two months support with medications and yearly
accommodation.
CCCLUK'S success in raising £%,149 in 2023which will allow the Charity to ￿￿ke fukther grants in 2024
to help CCCL Lebanon'5 work,

will carTy on with tlieir effoi'ts in seeking to Eovni new partnerships wtth multi-national organizations that
are based in l.ondon in order to identify p05s1ble fuiidratsing opportunities for the fuhxre.
Tlie charity does not use a proEe55ional fundraiser, or commercial parttclpator.
Investment Poli
The charity will aim to retain a pruLlent amount in reserve5 each year. However. we will spend most
of the funds raised (restricted and non-restrict@dl sn supporting CCCL Lebanon with its mission a5 set
out above.AccordinslyR we do not intend to keep any funds for loftg-term investment nevertheless.

81 Reserves Polic
In 2024, the Ex)ard of directors exaJnined the charity's requirements for emersency and free re5erve5
and decided tocontinue with their initial plan of retainins some of the unrestricted funds held by the
chartty. The emergency reserves of.CCCLUK should be between three and stx months of its annual
expenditure calculated 2023. Based on ?021. 2022 and 2023 expenditutres. tho average annual
expenditure is £Ai,914 and the total eypenditure for 2024 is not expected to exceed £IOO,000. Due to

various risk factor which could hinder and obstrttct Eundrai5tng activities globally. and the recent
increase of the CCCL UK Ltd expenditure for the past 3 years, the board of directors has decided to
increase the initi•l ta¥get of a minimum £17.500 and the maximum resÈrve fund from L15,0(X) to
£48.500. The board of director5 15 confident thut at thi5 level it would be able to continue the Current
activities of the charÈty in the ovent of asignificant drop in fundraising and wrforeseen events such
os thespread of the pandemic. Since the board's decision was to postpone the continuation of buijdtng
the reserve needed as planned the prev&ous annual reports, and since the board decide to iftcrease
the reserves to £48,200.
As at the year-enLI, the free reserves were Q29,173 (2022.- £6T7,913) followqng the net movement in
funds of £51,260 resulting from the generou5 donations in the year. This wiu allow CCCLUK to make
further lif&saving donations to CCCL LEbanon iii 2024 returning reserves down to the maxtmum.
So far, CCCL IUKI Ltd is planning to grant the Children's Cancer Center of LL.banon during the
financial year of 2024. a grant totalins around £480,(KX).

The charity's plans are to continu@ the aclivities outlined above in 2024 and in the forthcoming vears
5ubFCt tts satisfactoi'y fundraising out¢tsme5. Moreover, the Ex)ard of directors will continue to seek to
elaborate on currejit and establish iiew partnerships with inulti-iiational organizatiOT]S to increase
donations paid to CCCLUK and executin8 crowd funding campaigns.
