**establish feeding stations due to many**
**British property owners selling.**
**However the feline population is under**
**control in most areas.**
**Due to the new strict Animal Welfare Bill**
**the local Town Halls are obliged to**
**control the sterilisation of cats and**
**them not having enough people to catch**
**the cats themselves they are paying the**
**basic cost of neutering for at least 2**
**years.**
**This is great news for all the societies**
**as we are all suffering a rapid decrease**
**in donations as people struggle with the**
**general increase in the cost of living.**
**Our vet continues to provide an**
**excellent service keeping blood tests**
**and x rays at a very reasonable cost**
**along with dental care for the elderly**
**cats.**
**There are 2 areas of concern on the**
**island both holiday destinations offering**
**self catering accommodation where the**
**cats move around and are often not**
**known to us and where unwanted**
**kittens are dumped.**
**We have also had the expense of a new**| **colony where cats had been allowed to breed indiscriminately for several years despite numerous attempts to persuade them to let us neuter. However because of the new laws we have more power. Many of the cats and kittens were in a very bad state. 2 kittens needing an eye removed. They were all wormed, treated for fleas and were vaccinated along with being neutered. Good food was provided and now we have another colony of healthy and happy cats. All very expensive but worth it. They are well loved.** **The new fence is nearly finished giving the cats more freedom to explore the large garden.** **Many of the people who feed the cats around the island are the same, just getting older and a little slower but still they continue with their good work many going out at night to avoid the seagulls.** |**Additional information (optional)**

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## **Independent examiner's statement** I have completed my examination.
