2022/23 was our eighth year as a Volunteer Car Scheme and we are slowly recovering from 2020/21 but still not back to pre pandemic levels. As can be seen by the accounts we are spending more than we receive, the shortfall being covered by our reserves. Hopefully, the financial year 2023/24 will bring better results.
Total journeys for 2022/2023 were 3465, carrying 4351 passengers. This is approximately 22% more than the previous year but approximately 38% down on pre-pandemic levels. Our aim for 2023/24 is to continually raise the number of journeys and recruit more volunteer drivers admin staff.
Whilst we had a new Trustee join us, Rachel Simpson, in December 2022, unfortunately we lost Maureen Biddulph who died in September 2022. Maureen was one of the original Trustees who helped set the charity up. She is sadly missed.
We would like to thank all our volunteer drivers and admin staff for their help during the past 12 months.
