OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

The objectives of Prayer Storm Trust are for the benefit of the public.

It exists:

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2024

they are so gripped with the conviction that only a revival of prayer in the church can revive the heart of a nation. As a result, many come to Prayer Storm with distractions and addictions and leave re-fired with a new focus to take awakening prayer back to their churches.

Our strategy is to engage with a wide audience through our activities, and to see individual lives transformed by a reawakening to the power of prayer. We work to inspire a shift in prayer culture in churches, with a strategy to see church leaders move prayer higher on their agenda as they take ownership of prayer culture.

We measure our impact through metrics (online reach and event attendance) and through personal stories of transformation which we gather after each of our events and courses.

SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES

Throughout the past year with the increase in people accessing Prayer Storm online we have continued to grow with a priority on creating valuable content for these platforms.

Our YouTube channel has grown from 44.7k subscribers to 265k this year (+220k), a 493% increase in subscribers.

And we have seen growth in other social media platforms this year, with

4

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2024

We have a growing media presence, reaching out on new platforms frequented by the youth and young adults: Instagram, Tik-Tok and Twitter. People are not just subscribing to Prayer Storm but are becoming more interactive by leaving likes, comments and testimonies, which will in turn help Prayer Storm to grow. TikTok has shown a huge increase over recent months and is a testimony to hard work put in here. We are also investing further with the new staff role of Prayer Storm Youth coordinator with a focus on the older children coming up from Prayer Storm Kids and bringing others in.

During the last 12 months Prayer Storm have conducted 77 days / nights of events of which 18 days / nights of these were Face to Face. 3.5k people have attended these Face-to-Face events. By making live recordings and posting them online it has meant that a further 273k people have been able to view these live events from all over the world.

In total, this year, Prayer Storm has recorded 13.1M views with their 77 days of events and additional interviews and recordings.

In Addition, many more introductions, to Prayer Storm content, have been achieved using short video clips and podcasts on Instagram, Twitter and TikTok.

PUBLIC BENEFIT

Throughout the period ending 31 August 2023, the trustees have paid due regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on Public Benefit and, in particular, the specific guidance provided to charities for the advancement of religion. The Trustees are satisfied that the information provided in the report and accounts meets the public benefit reporting requirements.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Governing Document

Prayer Storm Trust’s governing document is a constitution. The charity is registered as a Charitable incorporated Organisation, whose only voting members are its trustees.

Appointment of Trustees

Trustee selection method is by appointment by the current trustees, of any person meeting the requirements set down in the constitution. Trustees are selected on basis of their experience, expertise, and specific skills which are reasonably expected to further the mission and vision of the charity ((please refer to the Charities policy on Recruitment and Appointment of Trustees)

Recruitment and appointment for prospective trustees

Policies and procedures for the recruitment, appointment and induction of all new trustees are in place and maintained by the trustees. Responsibility for the trustee recruitment process lies with the Chair of Trustees.

The prospective trustee(s) are firstly nominated by the CEO and the board member(s). The person nominated must be a natural person and not be under the age of 18

Prior to the prospective trustee being appointed the following eligibility checks will have been completed:

8

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2024

If the person has previously served as a trustee – a check will be made with the register of all persons who have been removed as a charity trustee either by the commission or by an Order of the High Court since 1 February 1993. The prospective trustees will be asked to sign a declaration to confirm that they are not disqualified from acting as a charity trustee.

To maintain good practice an enhanced DBS check will be required

The Related Parties of Interest and Prayer Storm Board of Directors – Record of Other Interests forms will also need to be completed. The prospective trustee will have access to the charities latest Trustee Annual Report and the financial accounts.

Either during this process or after the necessary checks has been completed, the prospective trustee will be asked to attend an interview with the CEO and the chairperson of the charity. Each candidate is assessed having regard to the overall composition of the Board of Trustees, including any skills and experience that its then current board lack. The prospective trustee is invited to ‘shadow’ a Trustee Board meeting.

Finally, if it has been deemed that the trustee is successful, a letter is sent from the chair to the trustee, confirming their appointment.

The Charity appoints new trustees and reappoints those who have come to the end of their current term of office and who are eligible, willing, and nominated for re-election. Trustees are appointed for a three-year period in accordance with the constitution. After serving a maximum of three consecutive terms of office, a retiring trustee is not eligible to serve any further term of office until at least one year of non-service has elapsed. The charities constitution provides for a minimum of three and no maximum of trustees who may be appointed

9

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2024

Induction and training of trustees

All trustees receive induction training, a welcome pack and support to acquire the necessary detail of how the Movement and the Board of Trustees work, so that they can play a full part in discussion and decision-making. Every effort is made to broaden trustees’ knowledge on an individual level so that they are up to date with the whole of the Movement and the Strategic Plan. To help support this process the trustee will have a ‘buddy’ appointed to them who is an existing trustee.

Appointment of the Chair of Trustees

The constitution states that the chair must be appointed by the other trustees on the board. The appointment may at any time be revoked –but it would be foreseeable that the appointment would be for a term of three years.

Organisation

As set out in the Charity constitution, The Board of Trustees meets at least quarterly to oversee the vision, strategies, and management of the charity.

Day to day management of the Trust’s operations is delegated to CEO James Aladiran and his operations team. The trustees and specialist charity and executive support is provided when required.

Remuneration policy for key management personnel

The chief executive salary is set by the Trustees and will be reviewed annually, referring to benchmarking information to confirm that the salary is reasonable and in line with the market. A performance and salary review would normally be carried out at least once in each year for all key management personnel.

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2024

Staff and volunteers

Much of the activities during this period were carried out by volunteers, to whom the trustees extend their gratitude.

These activities include:

Volunteers are onboarded in accordance with Prayer Storm Policies and Procedure, which require an application form completing, an informal interview and References.

Training sessions are conducted by staff (and/or skilled Volunteers) to ensure they have the skills to perform what has been asked of them.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE

Since February 2021, Prayer Storm's investment in new equipment and additional staff has certainly made a big difference to getting quality Live Streams together that are proving to be engaging well with larger numbers of people.

In this reporting period, things have been pretty stable with no further large investments in equipment.

Restructuring of existing job roles has ensured that roles have stayed relevant to the developing needs of the ministry in order to fulfil and achieve our objectives.

The years 2020 - 2024 has seen a huge shift in the way the world has been able to operate, as a ministry, Prayer Storm has adapted and as result has seen growth.

11

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2024

Prayer Storm continue to host Face-to-Face events as well as live streaming them to a wider audience. This method continues to provide a much better reach:

In addition, Prayer Storm have been conducting a number of interviews and recordings with key pastors. James Aladiran’s interview with James Kawalya went viral and attracted 8.3M views on YouTube. And a follow up interview, ‘A Road To Deliverance’, a further 1.7M views.

This in turn has increased Prayer Storm’s footprint this year with examples of James Aladiran’s recordings regularly hitting between 50k views to 102k views.

Again this year Prayer Storm have received many testimonies on how Prayer Storm continues to impact individuals.

We certainly believe that this approach is providing new channels for Gospel ministry and bringing hope to our nation and further afield.

Below is a summary of our activities throughout this year.

TESTIMONIALS IN SEP-23 to AUG-24

Below are a few testimonies from these events:

Prayer Siege 8 - 21 nights (2 hr at midnight) – September 2023

Thank you. I have been on a prayer journey with you all week. Last Saturday, as I was praying and preparing for church, I sensed the words, prayer storm, prayer siege, prayer tsunami. I searched on YouTube and found your channel. I've been praying along with season 6 all week. And I had decided to continue for 21 days. Then, when I looked tonight, I found out you are starting a new season. This is the longest duration I have ever prayed in tongues. Praise the Lord! Thank you!

I have a testimony of night 3 also, I was engaged in the prayer but tired so sat down & began to dose off its like I went straight in to dream mode and whilst still sitting up in a split second I saw a woman's face who said "use your voice" and she motioned her two fingers from her mouth in demonstration, I woke up and was like wow, jumped up & carried on praying then within 2 seconds, James declared "We find our voice again, we begin to find our sound in prayer again" transcript 1.28.36 well by this time I was like wow wow!

That was fantastic. I felt a real breakthrough. In the spirit, I stood in front of the flat where my prodigal is residing and called him out of there. Thank you for these prayer sieges.

Day 20 -The first half an hour I couldn't even pray I was just crying sobbing from deep within my heart tried to put words but nope only tears. I'm from India but the Presence ran from YouTube to my room at 4am. To God be the Glory.

Thank you for investing so heavily in us! I started following you from the lockdowns and my life has never been the same - I have learned so much! Thank you for paying the cost of the body of Christ and growing prayer in our lives. This season of Prayer Siege is really powerful. Glory to God!

Day14 and 19 have been spot on for me and my family.... Been praying with them again and again and will continue to till there’s a manifestation.

My words cannot adequately explain what happened to me through Day 20 prayer. ROCKED is an understatement. It was personal, God designed the deliverance for me. I just want to say Thank you! I came to find you on IG and just realized you’re located in Manchester, and I moved here on the 4th of September. I surely would like to come to your meetings if you can share the schedule. Thank you so much. God bless you all.

James Kawalya Interview – October 2023

Hi James, It is wonderful to find something worthwhile to invest in. I find your ministry very encouraging. It is the first time I have learnt how to pray for an hour or two and I hope more in the future.

2 weeks ago, I was privileged to watch the testimony on how Pastor Kawalya walked in the dark world and got saved by the powerful grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. I was greatly encouraged, and my faith is boosted. My hunger for prayer has increased. Now I have knowledge of what really happens in the spirit, and I am fired up to fulfil God's purpose over my life. Having listened to the testimony I thought it wise to share the testimony with my fellow youths in our ministry. Last Sunday we showed the testimony on a projector at Church and the youths were greatly moved by this powerful testimony. Lives have been touched and have been transformed.

Thank you for sharing pastor James K’s testimony! My family and I have come together and started covenant prayer every night for the next 30 days (currently day 9) and it’s been amazing. Our lives have already changed so much, and our understanding and spiritual sensitivity have already become deeper.

Finding out about James Kawalya's testimony has revived me. I'm a pastor who was living in sin and had forsaken the ministry. However, for the couple of weeks I've been revived.

After watching this testimony, on 28th Oct, God broke the Sexual immorality that had held me captive since my childhood at 4yrs old. My mom was in an accident in the late 80s and the devil picked that time to roll out molestation in our family. My two sisters and I all went through it from a teenage baby seater. She introduced them to lesbianism and me to fornication at 4yrs. God delivered me from the shame, guilt, root of immorality, delivered me from an evil covenant my parents made at my conception, He gave me freedom and self-control glory to Jesus. God helped me to understand my purpose for intercession deeper and that is why I was attacked when young, to shut me up. My mouth is wide open now in intercession more today than before.

Covenant Prayer | James Aladiran – November 2023

Thank you so much for this message! My sisters and I decided to do a covenant prayer, but I felt the need to do my own purifying and repentance fast first. This message really helped me see the importance of self-cleansing and purification before doing a collective work.

This was so incredible, powerful! what a message! His word is like a sword, sometimes painful when it confronts us but oh how sweet is the correction, how sweet the awakening! This message was the perfect follow up after James Kawalya's testimony.

Atmospheres, Altars and Gateways | James Aladiran – November 2023

ooooo goood!!! This is the second time I listened to you, brother James, since I first saw you on your interview with James Kawalya. I have been encouraged since to be intentional and focused on my walk with God, and specially in my prayer time. Thank you for teaching us how to rebuild our altar. This has opened my eyes and understanding to a higher level. I'm so blessed by your teachings! Watching from North Carolina, USA.

Furnace – November 23

Furnace was AMAZING James' talk will be one to return to again and again - deep revelations of sowing & reaping! The atmosphere was electric... If you've not been to a PS event before, GO! Being there is nothing like watching it online.

Such a wonderful presence of God. Can’t thank you guys enough...

I felt a very noticeable sensation go through my back after we were praying at Furnace yesterday. No one laid hands on me. I actually had to look around behind me because I thought someone was behind me touching me or something but there was no one there apart from the camera man minding his business. I guess GOD was at work once again!

Prayer Storm Kids Live – throughout the year

Amen! I thank God for Prayer Storm my children are watching and learning to pray.

Thank you for the opportunity for our children to pray. We as their parents also join the prayers to encourage them. God bless you

The kids have grown thru this time of prayer what a blessing!

Prayer Storm Conference – March 2024

“As I was praying last night during the last session, I realised that I have a new prayer tongue, I started feeling it the day before, but it could not break forth. I prayed this morning before leaving the hotel, and it flowed, and it felt like it was coming from deep within me. It’s only as I’m listening to the last session recording that I realised this was one of the prayers. IM COMING BACK NEXT YEAR AS A NEW WOMAN thank you all for obeying the call of God on your lives and the sacrifices that you make”.

“There were and are so many things happening during and because of the conference. The most tangible....Due to hormone changes, I've struggled with anxiety the past few years. Travel is extremely challenging. I take a low dose prescription anti-anxiety to travel. At the end of a trip I am always ready to come home. Not had I wished to spend at least another day, to have time for fellowship with people I met at the conference, I took NO

17

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2024

MEDICATION for the flight home. This is HUGE for me. It didn't even cross my mind to take it! I was home before I realized, I had so much joy and freedom, meds were not even on the radar! Glory to God!”.

“I haven’t been the same since leaving this conference! It’s really made me understand the importance of prayer”.

“I was tuning in online, and I felt like I was in the room. This is undeniably the Lord’s doing, and we are the multicultural army rising up”.

Prayer Storm Kids Conference – June 2024

Thank you Prayer Storm! Revival revival revival !!!

My son Obed mentioned to us upon returning from the conference that when he heard “out of your bellies shall flow rivers of living waters” - he literally felt a move within for few mins and added that it later stopped. Himself and his siblings somewhat know about the ways of the altar due to home disciplines but I can testify that I have noticed tangible changes already!!! God richly blessed prayer storm more and more.

Oh my goodness I just had to come back and testify! Prayer Storm Kids conference has had an impact on my 10-year-old! She not only got baptised in the Holy Spirit and started praying in tongues but she said she has never felt God in any other church service like she did! Last night as we prepared to go to bed she reminded me of the Bible reading and prayer chart. This morning she was awake for 6.30am to pray and read the Bible! Her appetite is changing!!! My girl wants to wake up early to spend time with God rather than watch TV!!

I’ve come back tonight with another testimony! I have 4 children, I registered 4 of them for the conference but could only attend with the 2 younger ones. The older ones were engaged with school activities so they couldn’t make it.

During the conference I kept mentioning ALL their names and I said, ‘Holy spirit I know distance is not a barrier, touch all my children one by one’

The ones I came to the conference with, received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

We returned to Barnsley that Saturday night, and on Sunday my children decided to watch the replays. They watched session 1 and 2 on Sunday, then today being Monday, they watched session 3! Lo and behold, the older siblings who were not present, received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues for the first time! I can’t describe what just happened in my lounge tonight but TO GOD ALONE BE THE GLORY

My daughter (who very recently turned 4) hasn’t stopped singing “I pledge my allegiance, to Jesus, to Jesus, I pledge my allegiance, to the lamb” since Saturday! God’s hand is evidently upon this movement! We have been greatly enriched and deeply challenged by

18

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2024

the content (both kids and adults). Thank you for your obedience! More grace for this necessary work

I brought along my daughter (had just turned two) I was hoping she would connect with the worship, but she didn’t and just played and ate snacks. When I got home that night, as we normally do before bed I pray. I asked if she wanted to pray and she said yes, she then prayed (in broken English and toddler!). Her prayers are intercessory which is something I haven’t consciously taught her she will pray for very specific children and workers at her nursery, I believe something from the conference triggered her spirit and opened up her prophetic voice.

Prayer Storm Conference – June 2024

Refreshed my soul, anointed me and instructed me to return to Scotland.

During Session 6 we were asked to praise God for someone that got healed in the room and I raised my hands in thanks. I suddenly realised my left shoulder didn’t hurt at all as it normally would!

Even the days after the conference I felt such a stirring in my life.

I was at the conference and during one of the sessions I felt rain on my arm. I looked up to see what was falling on me but there was nothing. This happened when we were pushing into prayer for an extended time and contending for the rain of heaven. It made me realise the amount of prayer and intercession needed for steady rain and revival!

I watched live and received my healing from short-sightedness.

In December I had a bad fall, falling down some concrete steps sustaining a hairline fracture to my left wrist and muscle/ tendon damage to my left knee. Since December there has been a measure of healing but being 73yrs old I was left with residual pain in both places, and got used to it, thinking age is a part of it. It was only when a younger man than me went up to testify about his knee being healed that I became aware that I had no pain in my knee area. I started to move my left leg back and forwards and walked backwards and forwards. I then started flexing my wrist and felt ‘no pain’. It was so busy and crowded, I did not go forward. But days later I can confirm I continue to be pain free in both left wrist and left knee and leg.

I testified that my right eye received light. I could see light with my right eye. I gave glory to God for that as I testified at the conference that I still give glory to God because of this testimony. As Apostle always encourages us to test ourselves; when I got him, I tested myself to read a book which I couldn't read before the conference. I couldn't see with both the left and right eye. I couldn't see on the phone as well. I wasn't able to make a call. I was always relying on my husband to help me identify the names and to call for me, but as I

19

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2024

was testing myself, I would like to testify that I can now read a book and also now make a phone call on my own. I can go to the app and to the names, and I can now make a call by myself. Glory to God for this great testimony. I also went on my roster to see what shifts I am working next, which I couldn't see before the conference. Glory to God, I managed to read my roster, I can read my roster now, and I don't need any help. I give glory to God. So, my right eye has received eye sight restored, and it is gaining more and more restoration.

The Cutting Edge of The Prophetic – Preach

This is so good. Before I came across this video, I was thinking about when or how the spirit of perversion came into my life. I had to be a child under the age of 11, and I believe I am delivered from pornography, but I love prayer time when Pastor James preaches because it's so powerful. Once again, the Holy Spirit came over me, but this time in chills. After the video cut, I continued to pray for probably 30 min to an hour more, and I didn't want to stop praying honestly. I truly want to thank Pastor James Aladiran for his ministry because God is working through him. I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit every time he prays, and this video couldn't have come at a better time.

Life On Fire Shorts – throughout year

Woowww this is so good! Deal with your vice now! Spoken directly to me.

Literally woke up with this scripture on my heart - thank you Prayer Storm for always having the flame burning - LIFE ON FIRE!

I used to be decorative, with the support of this Ministry I'm going deeper!

MATT WILSON- you legend! I dealt with a vice two months ago and now I’m on fire for God - shifting things in prayer with my prayer partner! AND under attack now big time!! That means I am TALL STRONG and KNOWN!!! Praise God!!!! Love Prayer storm - got another lady to sign up yesterday to the app- She loves it already!!

The costs went up to £568,495 (2023: £357,968) but were contained due to strong financial management and good cost control.

Income and Expenditure

Prayer Storm Trust relies on voluntary income as its principal source of funding. Total donation and legacies amounted to £381,948 (2023: £249,050).

Income from Trading activities were £31,087 (2023: £21,848).

Income from Grant funding was £0 (2023: £0).

The costs of raising funds amounted to £28,407(2023: £17,584), and the costs of fund generating activities were £5,327 (2023: £10,846)

'Income from Charitable activities' in the accounts shown as £203,247(2023: £57,447) includes £19,038 (2023: 39,533) of speaking fees.

Governance

The £357 ‘governance’ costs include some costs associated with independent examination of the accounts £0 (2023:0).

21

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2024

Surplus

Total of the incoming resources exceeded the resources expended in the period by £49,576 (2023: £28,870 deficit) and £310,164 is held as unrestricted funds and £89,449 is held in restricted funds towards the completion of the Prayer Storm App and the Prayer Storm building.

Balance Sheet

The Balance Sheet as at 31 August 24 was very strong ensuring that the charity has the assets required to deliver its commitments to the community.

Included in Tangible fixed assets are various items of Audio, Video, IT and Equipment valued at £29,117 (2023: £56,517)

Reserves policy

The Trustees have adopted a reserves policy which they consider appropriate, to ensure the continuing ability of Prayer Storm to meet its objectives and obligations. The policy also seeks to maintain an acceptable ratio between the free reserves and the level of unrestricted cash expenditure.

The ‘free reserves’ held by the charity are the unrestricted funds less the value of any designated funds and tangible assets not readily available to be spent

'Unrestricted cash expenditure' represents the operating costs for the year less the charge for depreciation.

This year the trustees reviewed their reserves policy. As a result of this review the trustees now consider they need to hold reserves to:

22

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2023

Should the charity have to wind up the trustees consider a reserve of £196,735 appropriate to cover staff redundancy payments; lease commitments and provide for 3 months running costs to wind up in an orderly manner.

In the normal course of events the trustees consider a reserve of £337,508 appropriate to provide 6 months running costs to allow time to secure new funding if required and provide for the replacement of assets.

At the 31 August 2024 the charity held free reserves of £278,947. The trustees had met their policy target reserves for the winding up the charity in an orderly manner, but not to provide 6 months running costs to allow time to secure new funding if required and provide for the replacement of assets, as the new revised policy has substantially increased reserves to be held. The trustees are in ongoing discussions with Prayer Storm partners to identify ways in which the free reserves held can be brought into line with the policy.

23

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2024

Risk policy

Prayer Storm has risk-management policies and procedures through which risks arising from existing operations and strategic developments are identified and evaluated. The Leadership Team is required to identify risks associated with activities, assess their potential impact and probability of occurrence, and report on procedures which are in place or are being developed to manage the risks. Significant risks are highlighted for consideration and monitoring by the Trustees and the suitability of the risk review and management process is monitored by the Yearly Independent Audit conducted on Prayer Storm’s behalf.

During the year, the Leadership Team and the Trustees carried out reviews of potential reputational, financial, mission and operational risks to the charity. The major risks to which the Prayer Storm is exposed have been reviewed and actions have been established to mitigate those risks.

Internal control risks are minimised by:

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2024

Risk management

The trustees have examined the major strategic, business, and operational risks which the charity faces and confirm that systems have been established to enable regular reports to be produced so that the necessary steps can be taken to minimise these risks.

The trustees have taken steps to ensure that all child protection issues are properly addressed.

The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the company is exposed, in particular those related to the operations and finances of the company and are satisfied that systems and procedures are in place to mitigate our exposure to the major risks.

A key element in the management of financial risk is the setting of a reserves policy and its regular review by trustees.

25

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES 31 AUGUST 2024

INVESTMENT POWERS AND POLICIES

The Trustees have the power to invest surplus funds of the charity in investments, securities, and property as they think fit. The current policy of the Trustees is to invest funds not immediately required by the charity into a range of Treasury Saving accounts which bear competitive rates of interest.

The Trustees consider the social, environmental, and ethical impact of the investment, before placing any new funds with a third party. This policy is reviewed periodically by the Trustees.

REMUNERATION POLICY

The remuneration policy seeks to balance our Christian values and the need to attract and retain staff with appropriate qualifications and skills.

Our minimum wage is based on the Living Wage as set by the Living Wage Foundation, which is higher than the National Living wage as regulated by HMRC. Pay scales are benchmarked against similar jobs in the North-west and a London weighting is applied where appropriate. We review the retail price and consumer price indices for inflation on an annual basis, before deciding upon any annual increments

SHARING OUR RESOURCES

Our commitment to helping others around the world who share our heart for the poor and unreached is expressed through our tithe fund. We tithe a proportion of our unrestricted charitable income, and give it to other organisations and charities who share similar objectives to Prayer Storm

Our total giving during the year amounted to £42,908 these gifts were given freely without any third-party benefit being received from any organisations and charities.

GRANT MAKING POLICY

The charity grants a proportion of its unrestricted income (currently10%) to other charitable organisations, who exist to advance the Christian Faith and share the objectives of Prayer Storm Trust Details of organisations supported are given in Note 3 to the accounts.

c. State whether the polices adopted are in accordance with the appropriate SORP on accounting by Charities and the Accounting Regulations and with applicable accounting standards subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and

d. Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to assume that the charity will continue its activities.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Statement of Compliance

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with FRS 102, “The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland”, the Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the financial reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (Charities SORP (FRS 102)) and the Charities Act 2011.The Charity constitutes a public benefit entity as defined by FRS102.

The trustees consider that, given the level of reserves, there are no material uncertainties about the Trust’s ability to continue as a going concern.

Incoming Resources

Donations & gifts

Donations and gifts are generally only recognised when received by or on behalf of the charity. In exceptional cases where an amount is significant, gifts are recognised as income when the charity is notified of a commitment to make a donation, and the trustees are virtually certain they will receive the resources, and the monetary value can be measured with sufficient reliability.

Income tax

Income tax recoverable on gift aid donations is recognised on a receivable basis.

Grants

Grants to the charity are accounted for as soon as charity is notified of its legal entitlement and the amount due.

Are accounted for when the funds are received.

Income from charitable activities

All income from events and activities is recognised when due.

34

NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

Resources Expended

Resources expended are included in the Statement of Financial Activities on an accrual’s basis.

Direct Charitable Expenditure

Directly attributable expenditure has been allocated to the appropriate fund. Where costs have been shared the expenditure has been allocated to funds on the basis of their estimated consumption of expenses.

Governance

These costs include the costs of governance arrangements which relate to the general running of the charity as opposed to the direct management functions inherent in generating funds and in charitable activities. This includes such items as external audit, legal advice for trustees and costs associated with constitutional and statutory requirements, including trustee’s meetings.

Volunteers and donated services and facilities

The value of services provided by volunteers is not incorporated into these financial statements.

Fixed Assets

Tangible fixed assets for use by the charity are capitalised if they can be used for more than one year and cost at least £500. They are valued at cost, or if gifted, at the value to the charity on receipt.

Depreciation is calculated on the costs or valuation of the assets at the rate of 25% (2023: 25%) using the straight-line method.

35

NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
