arrange any fund-raising events.
Fortunatety, we were thrtrwn a lif8lh8 through tho Hailsham (jgan Club. Ththere Michael v￿￿Or1d96 had performed a
Couple of years ago and. on that (Kcasion. he invrled Jayden & Freya v￿areY akxw to Perfo￿. They were very well
received. Sadty, Thmbership at Haikham d￿lIned and a dec4sion was taken by the serving officers to ck)se their
club. They were w impressed when they saw the Vrarey$ thal tlw voted the RWA W￿ld b6nefft from remaining
funds. In di8cussion. it was felt that rather than stop the lite blocal of live organ rnUS￿ for the remainiro members, half
ol the surplus was recebved by RWA and remaining aft￿In1 wa6 rirwJ-fenced to conts'nue concerts in Hail$ham,
with an agreement that RWA students would be feabjred in Sorr* of them, thereby providing a platfom where they
could appéar In order to galn wfOrmar￿8 exper￿ other than just at Rye. The re4urbch was hampered by vanous
¢OVKI lo¢kdown8 but concerts started in Awust2021. with the RWA'S Jamyma Hanson and Robert Eldridge scheduled
lo play the concert in Septstttsr 2021, and up to Seven stsmlents planned to give tho Chrths RWA students

Hailsham of£3,500 has FKovided a nXth4￿ed lrfeline in a y8ar with no incoN* from our usual fund-raising events.

We conlnued to enjoy good relalions with the fv4uin¥ Tnrt who okwate Rye College, and WelcA)m￿l the support In
this current year of Exacutivti Principal Bary Blakek)ck and the senior management team. Sadty. a small recruthnt
presenth'on On￿ attracted four new stthlenis, perhaps understandable wthen students had onty just relumed to college
life and were focusing on oye subj'ects and their new college routine. tt is hoped that our 'normal' recruitment
prnsentations will resumè In tho college yew.
Once again, the project ￿)Uld not be the success it 18 the 0)nts'n￿d prof8ssTh)alism and commitment of
Principal Tutor, Michael lfyl)oldridge. who gives much of personal b'rrn to support the whde project ond who, in his
professional capacity. has conbnued to wonders with the students in lessons.
E-Newsletters continued durirYJ the year vthen we had sufft*nt to tell our 31Kl+ 8upfftrn to thls medlum. In
May we did manage to hold a Famity Day at the East Sussex National, wth socialty distsnced time slots throughout
the day, atwhich our studentswwe a￿e to Fday the laryest￿￿1lZer in Eurq)e, whKh was enjoyed by players, parents
and in some cases, grand-parents listening.
To conclude, 2020r21 will be reff*mbered as a year in whth we survived de5￿ts the pandemic, and In which we
conbnued doing what we do best. bringing hwh qualty leaming to our siudents. whth rt was the leasl we could do in
¢ontinuing 'strange times..

Revlew of Year to 31" August 2021
This year due to the Covld 19 Pandemic. income has been severely affected, as no events
have been able to 80 ahead. This resulted in a shortfall of income a8ainst expenditure.
Income has been entirely from donations. and these have ensured that a teachln8
programme for students was able to continue.
Income and Expendlture
Income for the year totalled £9.5k compared to £17.4k the previous year. Thls represents a
54.6% decrease In Income.
There was no Income from events and although donatlons remalned the same as 2019120,
thls was due largely to a one4)ff donation from Hallsham Or8an Club.
Expendlture for the year totalled £10.7k compared to £14.8k In 2019120. This decrease Is
due malnly to lower Tultlon costs, as a result of on-llne le550ns at the start of the year and a
lack of event costs for Hall Hlre, Artlst Fees and caterin& as prevlously mentioned.
Summary
With an Income of £9.5k and expenditure of £10.7K we have a £1.2k shortfall for the year,
