accounts and comply with the charity's trust deéd, the Charitiès Acl 2011 and AcGounling arKI Reporting by

OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the charity is to assist with the rel￿f of cancer sufferers aged 1 lo 24 years and Iheir
families and carers in parbcul8r bvt not excFu5ivety by..
Providing financAal assistance for their benefit in eilher the Child￿n.$ ward of at the teenage cancer twst
at the Royal Marsden, Surrey.,
Providing grants to tsrnilies and carers of those children and assist their emotion81 wellbeing or providing
the means for a respite break for the whol8 family,.
Providing funding to the Royal Mafsden, Surrey ft>r equipment or other faulities required in ihe teenage
cancer Twsl unit,. or
By fundiry any other charitias or charitable organisations that provKlè support or care to children and
young people stth$Thng with can¢er.
REVIEW OF THE YEAR
2024 marks the 101h anniversary of The Aexandra Sales Trust and the Truslees would like to thank all of our
sponsors. donors and participants for their amazing support over this time. We carry forward Alexandra's name in
all we do and are proud to maintain and strengthen our mantra of raising "Smilg money, for young peoplè
suffering from canTrr. Over this 10 year period we have raised over £335,000. wlh 99.￿ of monies raised going to
good causes.
We have maintsined most of our regular events during this financial year inrjuding GOW D8y. Race Nighis and
Quiz Nights. A spécial notè of thanks must be madè to the Pearson family who again have provide(l tsntastic
sUp￿rt through Poult Wo(xJ Golf Club. We decided to rest our Aftemoon Tea event In 2024 arKI have replaced
with a Craft Fair bvhich took place al Ide Hill Village Hall in March. This event was in main organised by Trustee
Mary Saunders and was a great success, especial￿ in extending the reach ol our Charity intr) a new region and
involving new supFthers. We expect to repeat this event in 2025.
A special thanks lo our major donors in the 2023r24 Financi81 Year induding Retailer Group. Round Table, Barratt
Homes and Cazenove Group who match-funded our Golf Event. Th8nks also to J Hughes. D Lowe and S Walsh-
McEwen who all participated in challenges which raised £4800 through the Just Giwng platform.
Wtr Continue lo have an ex¢ellenl relationship with Young Lives vs Cancer who remain our main partner in
nominating worthy recipients ol our "Smile. gifts, trips, vouchers and tutoring. We also maintain a good
rel8tion5hip with Pembury Hospitsl to pmwde support for thèir nominatèd tseipiÈnts.
We continue to support and gift families with the rtems or day s out they requesl. A few examples are a visit t
help feed the tigers at Woburn Safari Park. driving lessons. a trip to an Arsena5 Football match and an Arsènal
football shirt, numerous theatre trips and much needed iherapy sessions.
We all remain fwused and proud to conlinue to raise "smi￿, money in Alexandrd's name and look forward to
another successtul and fruitful year in 2024r25.
PUBLIC BENEFIT
Tha Trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general
guidance on public benefil when reviewing the Fund's aim and objectives and in planning futu￿ activities and
setting the grant making policy lor the year.

committed ahead of baing receiv8d. On this basis the Trustee5 consider the charity to be a going concem.

The Alexandra Sales Trust is a Charitable Incorporalgd Organis81ion. The address of ihe prinapal office
is given in the charity infomation on page 1 of thesè ffinancial stattrmgnts. The nature ol the charity's
operats'ons and principal activities are set out on page 2.
The charity o)nstrtules a pU￿1C benefit eniity as defined by FRS 102. Thtr fin8ncial statements have
been prepared in accordance wilh Accounting and Reporting by Charitiès". Statement of Recornmended
Practice applicable to charities preparirrfJ their accounts in accordance with thè Financi81 Reporting
Stsnd8rd applicable in Ihe UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 issued in October 2019, the Charib'es
Act 2011 and UK Generally Accepted Practice.
The financial slalements a￿ prepared on a going concern basis under the hi5tori¢al cos¢ convention.
The financial statements are prepared in sterfing which is the functsonal currency ol the eharity.
The &gnificant acwjnting policies applied in the preparation of these financial statèmÈnts 8r8 sel out

Income
All income is included in the Statement of Financial Aclivilies ISOFAI when the charity is legally enb.tled
to the income after any perfomiance conditions hav8 been mèt, the arnounl c8n be measured rellably
and it is probable that the income will be received.
For donations to be fecognised the charity will have been notified of Ihe amunts and the settlement
date in wribng. If there are conditions attached to the donation and this requires a level of perfomiance
beforè Èntitlement can be obtained then income is defer￿d until those conditions a￿ fully met or the
fulfilm8nl of those corKlibons is within the control of the charity and it is probable that they will be fulfilled.
Exp•nditur•
All expenditure Is aceounlad for on an accftJal8 basis 8nd has been classified under headiws that
a99regale all cosls relaled to the category. Expenditure is recognised where there is a legal lx
constructive obligation to make payments to third parties, il is probable that the settlement wll be
required and the amount of the obligation can be m6asur6d reliably. It is categorised under the followng

Costs of raising funds includes ihose cosis incurrad by the charlty when marketing and
fundraising lo raise lund for the charity., and
Exp8ndilure on charit8ble 8clivilies comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery

those costs of an indire¢t nature necessary lo support them, where applicable.

Unrestricted funds a￿ available lor use at the dIsCre￿(>n ol the Trustees in furtherance of the general
objectwes of the charity and which have not been designated fot other purposes.
Going ConrArn
The financial stalemgnts have been prepared on a going concem bags as ihe Trustees b&li8ve that no
material uneertainties exist. The Trustees have considered the ￿Ve1 of funds held and the expected lev81
of income and expendilurè for 12 months from authorising these financial statements. The budgeted
income and expenditu￿ is SLrfficiènt wilh th8 level of reserves for the charity to be able lo conts'nue as 8
going concem.
